Solar Eclipse

The solar eclipse on 1/26, from what I've read will be most visible over India, the Indian Ocean and China. I wonder what effect this will have. I am aware that eclipses are generally not good, because energy from the sun is being blocked. With the effects of Pluto in Capricorn (downfall or upset of established institutions)-- what will we see in this part of the world? Are the events last month in Mumbai any indication?

Can the more experienced astrologers weigh in?
