A personal story and my research into Pranic Healing ;=D

Please bear with me as this is bound to turn into a long post, which I will try to separate into personal and research:

Personal:

In the mid 80's I took an acupressure course offered at a local community college. Then the classes moved to the instructor's house, he was trained in China and was very knowledgeable in the traditions of acupressure and other alternative healing. I bought the meridian chart posters, learned how to make ear candles, reflexology, muscle testing, and Tui Na (ancient chinese massage) as well as some other forms of healing.

One of the healing practices involved flowing Chi out of your hands to remove negative Chi and replacing it with positive Chi. The way it works is you place your hand over the area that is in pain, you collect the the energy flowing out (usually it feels hot) in your hand, after your hand feels as though it can't hold any more you throw it away, keep doing this until ALL the hot energy is not flowing out anymore. Then you replace the hot energy with cool energy that flows forth through your hands, repeat this until the patient starts to feel better.

However, he never gave this practice a name. I used this on several of my friends and they indicated that it had some effect on their pain they were suffering from.

Years go by and I let my studies go by the way side and stop practicing. But, I have always wanted to continue the studies, as I know it could benefit me and my loved ones.

Just recently I have been thinking about the Chi exercises and wanting to post about it here but wanted something to help make it understandable to you. This week I stumbled upon a website that gave it a name it is called Pranic Healing. They have several free clinics throughout the US, that will offer free healing to the public, some offer this a couple times out of the month.

I would love to be able to learn more through the courses they offer, but as of now I don't have the funds to do so. Perhaps sometime in the immediate future I will get my wish and will be able to presue this desire to finish learning from this ancient tradition of healing. I would love to become a Certified Master Healer :blush:

Anyway, I just wanted to share this important information with the ASHA group. Especially since there are Free Clinics to help out with some of our problems we may be experiencing right now in our everyday life, whether it is suffering from pain, or dealing with an emotional trauma, we should ALL go for a Free checkup.

1. I hope and pray your wish will come true as soon as possible for you

with ease and grace! It is a wonderful thing for you want to help others be healed :hug: If I may suggest something to tide you over until you can study Pranic Healing for a degree is learning and taking a Reiki attunement. There are Reiki Masters who offer free attunements as they feel the world needs as many healers as possible such as the ladies who lead the yahoogroup Reiki_On http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/Reiki_On I took my first attunement though them and it worked just as well as my in person paid for attunement. If you are cautious you need not even provide anything other than your first or username and state. It still worked for me :)

2. Thanks Shallah, actually your thread on the thymus led me to Pranic Healing

I was going to find some research on the topic and found this website through another website. Then I became distracted by Pranic Healing and reading everything there, and then there were more distractions.

I know you have posted before on the Reiki Yahoo groups before (I'm pretty sure it was you:blush:) and I was hesitant to join (wasn't sure about joining another group) and then I joined a Yahoo group for Free Form Crocheters. Now my email inbox is swamped with every post someone makes. Bizarre.

I guess I'll join to find someone in the Fort Worth community who might be willing to help me out in the meantime. :hug:

After searching everywhere for how much the Pranic Healing course cost, I finally found an old flyer that had a price of $450. Ouch. Although they did indicate there was a payment plan. But right now are funds are not going to be going to me going somewhere to advance my studies in Pranic Healing. We are $30,000 in debt and trying real hard to get out. I will keep an open mind and a positive outlook about my future in Pranic Healing and if it is meant to be it will be.

3. Is someone hitting reply to all?

anyhoo the Reiki On group *is* very active so you might want to go web only and read posts on the website. Then if you are looking for a reply to something you posted use the search function to look up your email and you can follow the thread from there :)

Since you are in a big community I bet your library has some Reiki books not that there really IS anything to it other than put hands on the person, move 'em down a handwidth, repeat until you reach the feet skipping private regions. My in-person teach used diane stein's book and Reiki for dummies. My personal fav of the 3 books I have read is Christopher Penczak's Magick of Reiki even tho I am not wiccan or neopagan.

I do some energy work on myself similar to that...like "scooping" out the negative or blockages, then holding light and sending a color to the area...

Though I still feel like I have too much that needs to be done to clear myself, I would love to work on others as well someday!
