5. Well hello old friend!

I figure we have about four years to figure out the significance of 2012...lol!

My post was a feeble attempt at humor.
I'm personally not relying on media sources to inform me. I'll watch my dreams, visions and ponder the astrological significance, listen to my guides, etc.

I do wonder what source material the movie is based on. Did they research all the visions/dreams/prophecies of others? Did the writer have visions him/herself?
In one of my significant dreams about the changes to come I must admit that it wasn't all that different than the scene depicted in the trailer for this movie. Not quite so dramatic, but there was a movement of the ocean as though the planet had been tipped over and as a result the water began to move (but more slowly). However, oceans are also symbols of the collective unconscious
in the language of dreams, so I'm careful to acknowledge that and not be too quick to assign literal meanings. Dreams, art and reality reflect one another...

It seems the movie implies that government has some specific knowledge of an event which they are withholding. I find it hard to believe governments have any sense of what's coming as they all seem to be obsessed with materialism and conflict in all its forms and maintaining the status quo. Perhaps they have picked up the scent of their own decaying corpses and are exploiting the ensuing chaos that is left in the wake of the demise of a crumbling system, looting and clinging all that much tighter to a life they've defined in material terms. In other words, they sense their ship is sinking and are grabbing the silverware, taking whatever they find of value and heading for what they assume are a limited number of lifeboats.

Or perhaps an even better ship/ocean analogy is depicted in a recent PBS special on the historic British expedition to find the Northwest Passage, and what befell them...a fitting portrayal of how one responds to getting 'stuck in the ice' when reality becomes crystallized and we are out of the flow. The remains of part of the crew was eventually discovered near a lifeboat they had loaded down not only with necessities for survival, but with many of the possessions of their 'old' lives...the weight of which they pulled across the snow for miles and miles until at last it
was their death. Others resorted to cannibalism. And then there was the newly invented canned food which was to be their salvation....but I will leave it at that (in case you haven't seen it).

At any rate, I think the extent of our or any government's 'knowledge' does not extend far beyond their own hubris and tunnel vision, and to assume more is to give them FAR too much credit.


Thanks for your links. It certainly IS an enigma.
I personally feel that the purpose of the changes is the equivalent of a polar shift in consciousness, and a recognition of our participation in creating the reality we experience. And perhaps science will help to confirm this for those reliant on those sources. But it won't be an intellectual recognition. It must be experiential. So, what's required of us is to simply connect with our intuitive, instinctive, divine selves and accept that the world as a whole will sort itself out according to the divine plan. We must become the captians of our own ships and learn to read the winds and the stars.
All the rest is just noise and distraction.
