Have you ever had a kind of "psychic door" open temporarily?
The weirdest thing happened to me a couple of months ago--it felt like a "psychic door" opened, giving me a mental/spiritual connection to another person I'm not in physical proximity to (I'm talking thousands of miles). I wasn't thinking about this person at all, and then all of a sudden there he was, standing next to me with his hands in his pockets, rocking on his heels, looking for all the world like he dropped in for a visit. He stayed for about a month, month and a half, and then he abruptly left, and I haven't been able to "find" him since. (And thanks to the wonders of the intertubes, I know for a fact that he's alive and well.) And you know, I kind of miss his company! (Does that sound weird?)

Has this ever happened to anyone else?

1. What do you mean he stayed for a month?
I mean was he there through all your activities? How did that work out? Or, did you just feel his presence? I have felt presences but I feel that they are spiritual beings that accompany me.

2. Kind of both
I always felt he was with me during this time, and sometimes he'd butt in with a silent "Whacha doin'?" over my shoulder. I remember one time I had to ask him to leave me alone for a little while so I could get some work done. He did and wasn't offended. He just...came back later.

I've had spiritual presences beside me before; this is the first time I've had the spirit (?) personality (?) of a "living" person (one in this 3-D reality) show up--outside of dreams, that is. It was very unusual.

3. That's interesting. I never thought of reaching out
spiritually to a live person. I suppose it would involve astral travel or remote viewing, practices that I'm hesitant about doing.

And unexpected. I have engaged in astral travel and remote viewing (as well as I'm able); it's quite useful sometimes. And I haven't run into any trouble. What is it that makes you hesitant? (Just curious!) :hi:

5. I think that at my age, I'm hesitant to do anything I might not be able to
come back from. I also had a disturbing dream a while back about that could be a warning of my imminent death next year. It could be something else too, but I can't seem to figure it out.

The practice does require a certain amount of self-protection, that's certain. Are you afraid that you'll lose your way back/your cord would be cut?

I'd still try to get a doctor to figure something out though--it'd be a shame if you had to suffer with something that has a physical origin that could be cured.

27. Thanks votes. I remember posting that because I was scared.
It turns out that none of the doctors or scans have pinpointed the problem. My doctors have moved on. They treat me for other things, but don't seem to like it if I mention the spells. I have learned to live with them and figure out where to go if I need to endure a spell. I have learned some of the triggers and avoid them, but sometimes, it's so weird. I can be sitting calmly watching TV and one comes on me. I'm not into astrology so I don't know if there is a trigger, maybe some of the astrologers could help.

25. I had vertigo much of late november and most of december
Only just now did I realize it had finally stopped! I had lots of inner ear infections as kid so I figured it was just more fluid in the ole inner ear again but maybe it was at least in part energetic. Fascinating yet unpleasant.

34. Have you had it checked with a specialist? Usually they can tell if it's inner ear.
I thought it might be because of the shingles attack and Bell's Palsy on the same side of my face, that I had endured the previous year, however, the ear specialist couldn't find that it was inner ear. He tried to trigger an attack but nothing happened so he ruled out the inner ear and sent me to a neurologist.

It only hit me when I tilted my head or changed head position quickly like laying down to sleep. I have had it so many times come up with a sinus infection & never concered the doctor and as it always before got better in a few days I never was refered to a specialist.

13. Sometimes trying to reach the alpha state, I get the vertigo, which
is scary because I lose control of my motor abilities. I mean I get the vertigo sometimes without trying anything, but I don't relish doing anything that triggers it off. I actually think I do astral in my sleep anyway. Last night I had a very vivid dream of being on a cruise ship and disembarking in Australia, a place I never had a desire to go to. I was surrounded by people I never have known and do not know. There was nothing symbolic about the dream but it was very vivid and sensual where I could feel everything including the weather. Other wise it was a boring dream. Maybe I was there briefly?

10. yes. it happened to me last year
When I first started in school. He had come to me in dreams a few times over the prior few years. And then, he came to me September a year ago. We had some in depth conversations about our relationship from some 15+ years before. We "saw" each other for a couple months. I could drop on him too. And then he disappeared for a week. And then one morning, a week or so before Thanksgiving, I felt his hands on my shoulders and he told me he was sorry, but he couldn't be with me right now. He came back briefly the following February, when I was applying for financial aid, and said he wanted to take care of me. I started to cry, and he said he knew I was scared and that he was scared too. That was the last I heard from him...

Thanks for letting me know I'm not crazy, BTW! :D

Do you know why you suddenly were "in" each other's lives (consciousness) at that time of your life? Was it just time to discuss your past, or was it something in your present lives that opened the door? (If you don't mind sharing.)

or, hey maybe I'm not crazy either?! ;-)

When I first moved here, I thought this was going to be a healing place. That seems to have been the case.

I'm not sure why he came to me now, except that when I did a little research on him, I learned that his conducting career crashed at the same time that my writing career was totalled. So maybe he's also in a healing time.

In the first dream I had, back in '04, he asked me, "What ever happened to you?" and I snapped back, "You tell me what happened!" and then I woke up. I remember thinking I was glad I expressed my anger and hurt even in my dream, lol. Out of curiosity, I googled him and was surprised to learn that he'd lost his chorus and his orchestra post-911. And that he'd just completed a year conducting a small, rural chorus located just 15 minutes from where I used to live. He stayed with them just that 1 year. Freaky.

So about a year later he appeared in a dream and just said I love you. I woke up and shut it out. And a year later it happened again.

And then right about when I started back to school, I dreamed it again. Only this time I started crying for days about that time in my life. And then while I was sitting on the deck studying, we started conversing. Mostly at first, he was just listening to me ranting at him. But then it just settled into discussion.

15. ROFL you're right
I shouldn't be so quick to assume I'm NOT crazy when so many factors point to the opposite!

Interesting that you and your former SO were having a heart-to-heart in dreams--and sometimes shouting in the astral world can be cathartic, that's for sure. I think you're right that he came to you in a transitional time for both of you. It seems that you're on parallel paths, no?

What puzzles me about my spiritual visitor is that we don't have anything to work out (from this lifetime, anyway). We have nothing unsaid that needs to be said, nothing that needs clearing up. He doesn't seem like he has anything he wants to communicate...he just...visits. Like a friend hanging out.

Speaking of dreams of exes, are you ready for a good one? A couple of years before I met the man who became Mr. MG, I went out with a guy who was totally wrong for me. It was a MAJOR "what was I thinking?" relationship. Well, I know what I was thinking--I was hurting after coming out of a serious relationship and this what-was-I-thinking guy was really chasing me, so I said "oh what the heck" and went out with him. We dated for about a year. (BTW, this what-was-I-thinking guy is not my spiritual visitor, nor is the guy I was hurting over.)

Anyway, I wasn't exceptionally broken up when we, well, broke up--but of course my ego was bruised, as he was the one who broke up with me (after chasing me so hard!) and I moved on. Several years later he came to me in a dream with a contract in his hand. He offered to rip it up. Get this--I said, "No, that's okay" and let him KEEP IT.

I mean, :wtf: Dude was giving me a "get out of karma free" card, and I REFUSED. Still shaking my head over that one.

18. except, other than the initial dreams...
it wasn't dreams. I was fully awake and conscious, but would fall into a trance state and hear his voice and think my responses. It was usually while trying to study. He came to me a couple times in class. Once in biology lecture, he slipped up behind me. I thought, "are you trying to lure me away from school?" and he replied, "I don't want you in school. I want you here with me."

He sat across from me in the middle of one chemistry class. This was a small lab-type class, with just a dozen students and we were sitting as a group, and suddenly there he was, flirting with me. To anyone in the class, I think I would have looked like I'd just totally spaced out midstream, lol.

And that's part of what's so wierd about it. It's not like I was sitting around daydreaming when these "meetings" happened. I was totally absorbed in the here and now, and in the 2nd case above, in public and mid-discussion. And suddenly, this trance would fall on me and there he was.

Our relationship 15+ years ago was very, very strange too, with me falling into semi-conscious trances and hearing conversations (that later were confirmed). And some dreams in which we were together that later proved to be clairvoyant.

19. Yes, the interruptions to daily life!
It can be inconvenient! My visitor always showed up when I was in an alpha state--often alone but not always, usually when I was sitting quietly doing work or something else I really needed to be focusing on, And we'd have silent conversations like you described.

It sounds like you and your visitor have an incredibly close bond. Have you discussed with him setting up another life so you can be together without it being troublesome for you or him?

20. haven't heard from him in a long time...
and all emotion seems to have drained from the memories. THey are just faded memories.

At the end of the episode, which lasted a few months, I was trying to set up a time to meet with him in his home city. He kept postponing. Then he told me he couldn't be with me right now. I know something serious had come up in his life and I told him I wished he could tell me what was going on, but to do what he had to do. That was over a year ago. He is independently wealthy and I suspect it may have had to do with the impending collapse of the housing market.

I did hear from him back when I was first applying for school loans last February.

And he came to me in a very, very unusual and intense dream last spring.

And I thought I heard him tell me I will always have a home and always have enough to eat last summer.

But nothing else. I haven't been able to connect with him and haven't really felt the urge to try.

If emotions are energy and our feelings were bottled up energy, maybe they just needed to play themselves out. Or maybe he'll turn up in my life again. I just no longer anticipate or hope for it.

Inspired by your posts and Cher's! So thanks! :hi: Anyway, we picked a date to meet in person and talk. It's more than two years away! I don't know why that date came up--as far as I know, it has no significance to either one of us--but there it is. We also agreed that because potentialities change over time, neither should be hurt if the other doesn't show up or if the plans fail to materialize, but if one of us has to cancel and is aware of that beforehand, we'll try to visit and let the other know. This'll be interesting.

I'll let y'all know what happens!

16. yes, I had one of those
Yes, I had a psychic door open when I met a person who was not in proximity. I met this person on the Internet. I can't remember exactly how this came about but it was probably some discussion group because I've always engaged in these. At the same time I met him, I met a woman who became a good friend for many years. The odd part was that not only did I meet the two at about the same time, they were both born on the same day, same year, and were within 20 miles of each other in Maryland. I met her on a mystery group discussion board.

I subsequently met both these people in person and the relationships went on for years in one case and about a year in the other.

About the psychic door: the male friend was just becoming interested in dream interpretation. I took on the role of being a "guide," as I have had a couple decades of dream analysis.

That set it all off: instantly synchronicities and all sorts of odd and very funny things started happening. He would tell me his dream via e-mail and I would pose questions to him to help him interpret it. Here's an example. One morning he told me a dream which included a dwarf. For the next two days, dwarves appeared to me in physical reality. I think there were about five in 48 hours.

Now I can go for years without seeing a little person but to see five in 48 hours?

It was like this person turned the ignition on my psychic abilities. They seemed to be enhanced many times over.

There were so many of these instances that I thought I would take on the study of our horoscopes to see if I could pick up a clue as to what was going on. One of the first things I discovered had something to do with cardinal positions. That's when all the cardinals started appearing. Every morning they would be clustered outside my door; I had never seen any cardinals there prior to this.

The horoscope analysis led me to believe we had been partners in many lifetimes.

At one point I asked the cosmos for more information and it started coming in in bucket loads. I could hardly keep up with it all. It was one of the most amazing experiences of my life and I had an epiphany from it. The epiphany is that there are no problems in this world because what is perceived as a problem is nothing more than a puzzle to figure out. Unfortunately my word explanation here does the ephiphany a disservice because there is more to it than that but words cannot explain it.

This happened in August and I remember it well because it was so hot. I literally stayed up for days on end with no sleep because so much info was coming in to me. Whatever was guiding me required me to consult books, too, and so this was an all-consuming activity. I would go from one book to another and everything was laid out to me. This was no mind trick or hallucination. Some of the answers involved concrete numbers and yet I would find them in books out of context but with the exact information.

Through the dream analysis, this man and I developed an emotional and physical attraction to each other. This was a problem as we were both happily married. We decided to part ways before we did anything ...um, stupid. To this day it still makes me smile that we were able to do the right thing, the honorable thing. It means a lot to me that I didn't succumb to pure emotion and mess up my own life and quite possibly the lives of others.

Over a decade later, I still consider this one of the most amazing experiences of my life.

17. WOW, Cher! That's an amazing story.
Thank you so much for sharing it.

Yes, I am a big believer in the whole concept that we link up with people we've shared other lives with--those members of our soul group--and spend some time together in this lifetime to help one another out with some challenge or other. And of course, because love is love no matter what, sometimes it will evolve into a sexual attraction. And yes, it IS a choice whether to pursue that type of relationship when it presents itself, or wait till "the next time" when you can be together free and clear.

I just LOVE synchronicities like the ones you described. I've had some with this gentleman, this time. An example--through his public information on the intertubes I found out that he and I had the same weird illness at the same time last month, including conjunctivitis in the same eye--stuff like that. Mainly he greets me with a particular song on the radio (one that's not particularly a top 40 hit right now, making even more unusual). In fact, I walked into a restaurant last night and the moment I sat down, it started up on the sound system. That always makes me grin.

Your story of the days you stayed up, receiving information, is fantastic. I've had that happen as well, both for research purposes (Spirit gave me a crash course in shamanism--no corporeal teacher present!--one summer) and creatively (I stayed up for two days straight and wrote a screenplay nonstop--I don't think I even bathed!)

As for this situation, I have meditated on why this is happening, trying to get some answers, and I have gotten some information, but I still feel a little dissatisfied, like I'm not getting the full story. I think I may have to try again.

30. ok, I had an interesting experience in the past 2 weeks
Edited on Wed Jan-07-09 11:25 AM by northernlights
I started looking at rescue doggies in Petfinder. I suddenly imagined myself doing clinicals this summer and not wanting to leave Jakie alone by himself. So I was looking through the rescues and I saw several beautiful pups and their mother at a nearby rescue listed. But they didn't have a phone number or website, only an email, so I ventured into the forums to try to see if I could find info on them. Once in the forums, I found myself swept into the horrific world of the high-kill shelters. A beautiful, young "carolina dog" had been abandoned in the parking lot at a pound (after her owners couldn't come up with the $$ to surrender her an hour earlier). The look on her face...I know that look. I've worn that look in my past, including my recent past. I was sickened and couldn't sleep for crying most of the night.  When I finally fell asleep early in the morning, I dreamed my mother was behind me, only a young, happy and healthy woman, trying to console me. And I looked up and said, "how could anyone leave their 14 year old daughter locked out in the street? what kind of person could do that?" and woke up.

The next day, I went back into the forum and now found a dire emergency -- 8 beautiful puppies & young dogs, plus one senior -- scheduled to be gassed the next day in Georgia. The shelter was closed (it was Sunday) so I faxed an adoption form for one of them (how the eff do you choose? you live, you die  I wanted to save them all, their sweet, sweet faces haunted me), joined the forum and posted a message looking for help pulling, vetting and transporting. The next morning I called the shelter and got a rude woman who confirmed they received my fax. It took 2 days, but I finally got a contact to pull the puppy. I called her Wednesday morning, not knowing if the dogs were even still alive. She couldn't take her until the following Monday. So I called the shelter to see if they could board her over the new years holiday weekend. The line was busy. I called 5+ times that day, and every time the line was busy. The next day was New Years. Friday they were closed.

And then on the local news they announced that a rescue down in Kennebunk had pulled 24 puppies from death row in Georgia. I haven't heard a news report like that since I got my Jakie. I still haven't reached the shelter with my puppy. The phone was busy again Monday morning, and this mostly happened before things blew up with school. I feel so distant now...I think she's either been rescued or gone. I so hope the constantly busy phone was the rescues managing to pull them all...

oh for a little over a month every so often as I am trying to fall asleep or doing energy work on myself I will feel a presence as if I tuned into this other person. It is a relief to read of others experiences here as I have been feeling odd to miss a person I have never met at least in this life.

Years ago I saw a movie on TV about a young man in the present day who started getting flashes of the life of a girl who lived in early America in a Puritan type settlement and she of him after both nearly dying of some illness. They both saw things from the others point of view and could even talk to one another. Then people started noticing the girl talking to someone who was not there and to avoid being accused of witchcraft she told him she had to stop talking to him even though she loved him. Then one day she gave him one last message to go see a certain boulder near where they both lived in different times where she had carved their initials inside a heart. I wish I could remember the name of this story :(

38. Knowing others have experienced the same thing sure is reassuring for me, I can tell you that!
:D

Hey, do you think this stuff is coming about because of the era? I mean, it's interesting that both you and I have suddenly felt these presences in the past month or so. Reminds me of the channeled entities etc. who have said that as the shift progresses, barriers between worlds/dimensions will be broken down. I'll be interested to see if this starts happening to more people.

That sounds like an interesting movie! I saw a made-for-TV movie years ago that had a similar plot, and I loved it. I had to go look it up just now--it was kind of tough to find because I couldn't remember who the main actors were! Finally tweaked to them, though, thank goodness. It was The Love Letter starring Campbell Scott and Jennifer Jason Leigh. He lived in the present and she lived in the Civil War era. He bought an antique desk she used to own and found a letter she had written wedged in the back of it (or maybe there was a secret compartment--I forget). So they started writing letters back and forth across time to one another.

Hmmm...I may want to get that on DVD...! Let me know if you remember the name of th eone you were thinking of. I love movies like that!

40. Blending of the dimensions, opening of psychic senses, more conductive energies
could be one or a combination of all of these  Fascinating all the same. I wouldn't be surprised that we would hear a lot more of these and other psi experiences if most people did not fear being thought odd, nuts, or possessed by evil and in need of a dose of wesson oil.

There have been several other time-crossed lovers movies though the years. There was one from the early 80s (I think) with christopher reeve & jane seymour and a couple years ago there was The lake house w/ Keanu Reeves & sandra bullock.

41. I'd love some advice on Remote Viewing and Astral Travel....
What are some techniques (1010 that I could use to explore these two techniques? I've been fascinated by them and have heard that others experience them and I'd like to try myself but I don't know how to get started.
Thanks!:hi: :hi:

42. Somewhere in Time!
The Reeve-Seymour movie. One of my all-time favorites! Cheesy but great--a classic. I didn't like The Lake House very much, but I'm picky about "stupid plot holes". You can stretch the truth till it screams for mercy and I'll buy it, but don't gimme stupid, you know? With The Lake House I was shouting at the TV, "Look her up in the damned phone book!"

One of my favorite metaphysical movies--not so much time travel as alternate dimensions/lives--is Sliding Doors with Gwyneth Paltrow. I only saw it once and for some reason it's not all over the movie channels on cable like other films for a repeat viewing, so I'm tempted to buy that one on DVD. It's really well done and treats alternate dimensions properly.
