Chakrapani: Mars in a particularly bad transit/problems for US
This is from the Chakrapani web site. Here is his latest newsletter for May '05.
http://www.chakrapani.com/articles/ArticleMarsTransit2005-06.htm
*note: Chakrapani Ullal is a Vedic astrologer who ranks among the best, in my opinion. He predicted Bush would win in 2004. He also predicted in 2004 that a lot more corporate corruption would be exposed "we're not done yet!" He was referring to FNMA and FMAC (Fannie Mae and Freddy Mac).

I've been following his newsletters for about 2 years, and have found them to be extremely accurate. Chakrapani is from India, but is now living in Los Angeles, giving horoscopes to the "stars". Good, nonetheless. Check out his previous newsletters, which are in the Archives.

The coming transit of Mars is quite unusual. Mars normally stays in one sign for 45 days and then moves into the next sign. Even when Mars is retrograde, and it retrogrades approximately every 2 years, it does not stay in one house for the entire period of its retrogradation. In this particular instance it will be staying in Aries, in one sign, for the entire period.

What makes this particularly unusual is the fact that this Mars is making an aspect onto Saturn in the fourth house for the entire period, and Saturn is mutually aspecting in return.

<snip>
Mars, during this transit in Aries, aspects Saturn which is transiting Cancer since the end of May '05 and will continue to transit Cancer until the end of July '07. Therefore there is a fierce battle going on between these two unfriendly planets which influences the whole world in one form or another.

The nature of the battles between these planets brings out negative influences such as potential destruction by fire, accidents (either by land, sea or air), explosions, fear of terrorism, increase of existing battles as well as potential fears of new battles. There is also a greater possibility of natural calamities manifesting in some parts of the world. All of these negative influences will be felt most strongly during Mars' retrograde transit in Aries.

When looking at the chart of the US, this mutual aspect occurs between the 5th and the 8th houses from the rising sign Sagittarius and between the 3rd and the 6th houses from the Moon's sign Aquarius. These are difficult houses for the transits of both Mars and Saturn.
<snip>

<snip> expect inflation, electricity and gas prices to go up...
more..

1. Thanks for this . .
A very interesting post and thanks for the link to that site.

Maybe the main battle here in the U.S. is between the right and the left. We are so polarized! Not that I was alive at the time, but it feels like before the Civil War, everyone was very polarized.

With churches kicking out the Democrats, what will be next??

2. This is very interesting, cliss!
But confusing to me, even though I know it is Vedic Astrology..the time that Saturn is in Cancer is way different than stated in my Western Astrology book. The same with Mars in Aries..my Mars goes into Taurus in July and stays there ..retrograde and all.

So they must look at the Planets and Stars differently in Vedic.

That is one scarey thought..having Mars(retrograde at that) square Saturn all that time.

3. The ol' tropical vs. siderial
In Vedic astrology, Mars will be in Aries (siderial) when those of us who follow Western astrology perceive it in Taurus (tropical). The difference is about 23 degrees and change. Which Means that when Saturn moves from Cancer into Leo this summer (tropical), according to Vedic astrology, it will be at around 7 degrees Cancer (siderial).

5.  Saturn leaves Cancer in July '05 AFAIC

"Mars, during this transit in Aries, aspects Saturn which is transiting Cancer since the end of May '05 and will continue to transit Cancer until the end of July '07."

This is what I've never understood about Vedic Astrology. How do we reconcile what we see happening in Western astrology vs. what they're seeing?

This is a good article. Thanks for posting.

:kick:

6. The dates....I forgot to post the dates
(the most important part of all!). Thanks LoudSue for reminding me.

So according to Chakrapani, Mars will enter Aries on July 17, 2005. This sounds fairly bad, according to his article.

Then, Mars becomes retrograde on October 5, '05. On Dec. 8 it becomes direct.

According to Chakrapani's article, the most dangerous time is between october 5 and December 7. It will be interesting to see what Richard Nolle has to say about this time.
