This ominous feeling ...
Is it just me, or do any of you also have a feeling that something bad is going to happen?

I've been extremely stressed and anxious the past week or two, but there isn't anything going on in my life that would explain it. Knots in my stomach, tension all over, sleep problems, the whole nine yards. I can't seem to focus.

1. naaa.
I actually have been feeling that things are getting better and better. And I'm not talking about any election issues. I'm talking personal. The housing market is showing weak signs of life, although it is still on oxygen -- but school is almost out, so at least something is going right.

Try to think good thoughts, Lib - and smile.

3. I'm "seeing" things today. Those flashes in the corner and the stuff in the sidelines.
Usually that visual stuff starts up for me when there is something afoot. Not always "bad" or negative things--just "energy" around. I came to the forum to see if anyone else was experiencing anything, and there you were...

Hang in there. I'm sure this too shall pass.

4. There is a lot of energy.. tap the good to erase the bad..
This week starts the beginning of the "war games".. send positive intentions that this remains an excercise. I know they are starting because CentCom--Tampa--had the fighter jets flying low over the city today.

5. It's...not my favorite feeling.
It's not as bad as it's been the last couple of years, but—it's not a good thing, either. My anxiety has definitely been up there.

6. I've felt similarly, but I call it anticipation.
Tension, anxiety, knots, lack of focus - yep, all aboard. :)

I work at defusing the anxiety via therapy and affirmative thinking, and keep my focus on keeping on focus. Trying to live these days one breath at a time, without fearing what the next one will bring.

But WOOOOO - whatever it is, it's in the the wind. I think everyone I work with had their hackles raised today.

10. I always feel that way since Bush took office.
I don't think the feeling will go away either until I know for sure that he and his minions are gone for good.

11. Yep, sort of "low-grade jitters." I can ignore them for a while but I can't
ignore the overall feeling, if that makes sense. Like Cleita, I've felt this way, on and off, almost the entire time this criminal bunch has been in office.

17. Still full of dread
Edited on Tue May-06-08 07:08 AM by LiberalEsto
Among other things, this prolonged and messy Democratic primary has me extremely worried. I am so afraid it will not have a good outcome, for whatever reason. I'm afraid it will deeply damage the Democratic party and our chances in November.

I'm so unused to seeing anything good happen -- ever since the trumped-up GOP feeding frenzy over "Monicagate" -- that I've developed an "Oh shit, what NEXT?" outlook.

We worked our butts off for Kerry, and then he got screwed out of his victory and didn't even bother fighting for it. Same with Gore in 2000 -- he wouldn't fight back. We worked to get a Democratic majority in Congress, and they immediately took impeachment off the table and became collaborators. Edwards dropped out of the primary race.

And the bastards in the White House keep getting away with heinous crimes including torture, and nothing is done about it. I find myself watching "Forensic Files" on Court TV just to convince myself that sometimes justice still exists, and that some bad guys still get what they deserve, because boy, I don't see much justice happening in the world otherwise.

The loss of 15,000 or more souls in Burma due to a catastrophic cyclone is dreadful. It makes me wonder whether climate change is making these storms more powerful and deadly. I keep reading about killer tornadoes, floods, droughts, melting ice caps, vanishing species, and wonder what kind of world there will be for future generations.

Everything just seems so fucked.

13. I've had baaaaad anxiety all day.
It wasn't quite "resume meds" kinda bad, but it had me considering that.

I...still feel like the potential for badness here can be staved off, provided cooler heads prevail. But I'm thinking of that Tower card I pulled re: the presidential campaigns. Not sure that kind of collapse can be held off forever.

15. Let's just say I feel that
one of the candidates (more than the other) needs light before he or she goes off a cliff. And the Democrats as a Party need light and guidance to aide them through the election season if "we" (libs, progs, mods, all the rest) are going to survive this. I'd like the decision makers in both camps to "sort it out," as Gore urged, before the Tower does it for them (and us).

There's your creepy feeling, all over the front page of Google News all weekend long. Burma is also Myanmar, it's the same place that rounded up their monks last fall after a summer of protest.

Is this worse than the 2006 tsunami? 15,000 lives are snuffed out over the weekend and not only is it not in the news (on the shows I watch), but the US is rushing aid to the tune of two hundred fifty thousand dollars.

It's because we're all busy feeding the starving in Haiti that we don't have more to spare.
:sarcasm:
