Mercury is in the process of going retrograde

On February 14, 2007, Mercury turns retrograde in Pisces, the sign of the Fishes, sending communications, travel, appointments, mail and the www into a general snarlup! This awkward period begins a few days before the actual turning point (as Mercury slows) and lasts for three weeks or so, until March 12, when the Winged Messenger reaches his direct station. At this time he halts and begins his return to direct motion through the zodiac.

1. Ugh, no!
I have the job interview of a lifetime tomorrow and really don't need crap to get snarfed up over the next 2 weeks when they're going to be checking references, making the decision, etc!

Any ideas on how to mimimize chances for FUBAR'ing ?

4. Sorry, I don't
I just thought it of interest about Mercury, because it seemed to me there have been a lot of threads lately on how people are not respecting each other, and thought Mercury might be playing a role.

I guess you should just try to be aware, and take it slowly.

10. My husband is waiting on job news these next two weeks also!
Ugh! What a terrible time for this to happen, because the field in which he works does 99% of the hiring this time of year.

Sending some 'good stuff' your way, hippiechick!

21. I think,
like most Mercury Rx transits, you might expect some sort of delay (maybe the meeting starts later than anticipated?)? Maybe even factor in the possibility for delay when planning your trip there. If the "birth" of the situation (the phone call from them to you to set up the interview? the sending of your resume?) happened before Merc went all Rx on your a**, then that would be the chart to watch for developments, etc.

Please let me (us) know how it goes. :-)

23. It went ok, the snowstorm didn't start until I was home ...
... but it was an intimidating interview: 7 people in 2.5 hours.
I felt like I was testifying in a trial - they sat me in a room and people cycled in to meet me, pretty much asking the same standard interview questions. By the last few people, I'm sure I was looking a bit frazzled. I know I was feeling frazzled.

It was odd.

If they make me an offer, I'll be ok with it - not thrilled because the job is very similar to what I'm doing now, which doesn't play to my strengths, but this company pays very well - it will allow my life to at least take a solid direction. Or, if they don't make me an offer, then my life can start to move in another direction.

So either way I am anxious for a response from them because I am at the proverbial fork in the road -- which I suspect the Merc Rx is going to tease me about for awhile, because Spirit knows that patience is my weak-point. Sigh. :(

5. Thanks, Annces, and welcome to the group! Here's some interesting information...
that I just found about it. (It states that the retrograde starts on the 13th, so the date must depend upon time zone.)

6. You are welcome
The article says it is moving into Mercury, so subtle effects will take effect earlier than the 13th. I also read that the strongest effect is right before it turns back the other way, on March 7 .

11. See my link upthread about "the shadow of the retro."
Edited on Mon Feb-12-07 10:26 AM by stellanoir
This excerpt is fom my last stellascope I posted when the lunation was triggering the Saturn/Neptune opposition and Saturn was near my Uranus and it got demoted to the lounge. Busted in GD for astrospeak is a pretty funny manifestation of that transit really.

". . .Mercury will go retrograde on the 13th at 11:38 pm EST at 10 degrees of Pisces. It'll go direct on March 7th at 11:45 pm EST at 11:45 pm EST. Mercury retro is not to be misconstrued as a convoluted excuse for stasis or procrastination. It' great for clearing up old misunderstandings and piles of extraneous paperwork. Just try not to over schedule and anticipate unanticipated and quirky complications especially with inexplicable electronics and high tech stuff. Maybe indulge in more spontaneity and lighten up. A not so little bird told me that this could really FINALLY start to be fun. . . "

15. It figures.
Things were going south at work yesterday & I asked a friend when we were going retrograde. It will be interesting with a Nor' Easter on the way, Valentine's Day plans being kaput. I've already asked for a vacation day so I can stay home & watch the storm. Wonder how many Valentine's babies will be born nine months from now?

20. May it bring with its passage greater emotional clarity for you.
I'm not saying that you're lacking it but that's the upshot of that particular transit.

22. Well, I could use some of that, for sure.
But, like everything else I did yesterday, I got that wrong, too. The Mercury transit retrograde will occur on my natal Jupiter, not my natal Moon. Every single thing I tried to say or do yesterday just went kerflooey, Stella. But today is much better and back to normal. Maybe having it conjunct Jupiter will help give me some new ideas, you think?
