Police See Paranormal Activity in Pub

LONDON -- British police responding to a call about a possible break in at a pub in northern England Monday found themselves in the middle of a ghoulish riddle.

Officers arrived at the Low Valley Arms pub near Barnsley in South Yorkshire, 250 miles north of London, after being told the alarm had been set off, but instead of finding any signs of a robbery, they were faced with a shaken landlord convinced he had encountered a ghost with half a face missing in the ladies washroom.

Though they saw no ghoul_ described as a woman in flowing white gown_ officers were shocked to find toilets flushing themselves, said Inspector John Bowler of South Yorkshire Police.

I have definitely seen things so I'd never say anyone was imagining stuff. Police on the other hand probably have a harder time with stuff like that. :toast: Interesting article.

2. Seems Great Britain is crawling with ghosts.

If it's one of those old pubs that have been there for over a hundred years, for sure there has to be a lot of "imprints", not to mention some earthbound spirits as well.

The had a cute story on "The Ghost Whisperer" this month. There was a comedy club that was haunted. When Melinda (the girl who sees ghosts) goes there after hours, the ghosts are doing their own comedy show, like they did when they were alive. When she asks them why they haven't crossed over, they answered that they were happy where they were, doing their shows for each other like they did when they were alive.

Sounds pretty scary, too. Imagine meeting someone with half a face missing. I still can't decide if these ghostly encounters are just "recordings" in the mists of time, or if they are actually live meetings with a departed entity.

Either way, there's no denying their existence.
