I'm adopting that phrase from Mark Morford. Right now, it expresses what I wish for for the world.

3. Wonderful article!
He (unfortunately) really gets it when he says *we are the ones late to the party. And we really are - the world, as he states, doesn't need us anymore.

4. It makes me feel strangely safer if the U.S. is no longer explicitly in charge.
I guess for me it means that the crazies have been stymied in their goal of "world domination." They can't win anymore by simply storming the wheelhouse of the U.S. ship of state.

5. Great article for something that happens
with little fanfare, as one country after another incorporates gay marriage into law.
Looking forward to the day when gay marriage makes the world yawn - as in so what, no big deal.
