right next to my clock radio. I just have to reach over and tap the button manually. When I'm on the couch, the "necklace" with the alarm button is on the coffee table right within reach. I'm not certain whether it even functions when I'm away from the "base" in my bedroom. We tested it after it was installed yesterday, and it reaches the whole distance of my house (72 ft.) from the kitchen to my bedroom in the back. It's just a matter of getting used to it. since I signed away my equity in my home to the state, I belong to them now, and they are very attentive. I have a physical therapist that comes twice a week, a VN comes twice a week, and I will be getting a homemaker (from where I used to work) coming in to clean two days a week. I have been provided with the Mercedes version of a walker with a seat and a basket. In house oxygen that makes 02 from the room air for my portable canisters. I have a 50 ft. hose that hooks up to it while ambulating. I am getting meals on wheels 5 days a week, and transportation to Dr.'s appts. when needed. All of this to keep me in my home until there is an opening in Sr. housing or nursing home should I have to have the back surgery. I am hooked up by phone to send my vitals every AM before 10 AM. to a "talking scale" a pulse ox (02 saturation device) and a blood pressure cuff. Today an occupational therapist came to see how I was maneuvering around the house, and installed a hand held shower, now I just need my shower bench. My house set up passed with flying colors, so he won't need to come back, Next week I see a psych counselor. So you can see...I've been busy, busy, busy! I've had to set up a calender just so I know who's coming and when!!! It's a little overwhelming at times. I still have three more Dr.'s to see and more tests next week. I'll keep you all posted on my ongoing Saga, and appreciate your thoughts and prayers now, more than ever. LUV YA ALL!
