I had a dream a few nights ago that I just can't shake. It wasn't a bad dream at all...it was just so vivid and unusual that I'm curious as to what you feel it could be suggesting (I do realize dreams are very personal though :)).
There is nothing unusual going on with my daughter; just the normal parental concerns and trials of a busy teenage girl. It's actually quite a smooth spell for us in our relationship, now that I think about it. I am focused on "community." No snake or lizard incidents to speak of which consciously triggered this dream.
I just looked up the meaning of lizard, and since this was the first thing I stumbled upon, I knew I had to post here. ;)
LIZARD - is about dreaming. In our dreams we imagine different futures and choose which we will materialize. Lizard teaches us the importance of respecting and remembering our dreams, incorporating the messages from our dreams into our lives.
Sooooo, in this dream I was in a grocery store parking lot. Very normal environment. The only thing different or unusual was that my daughter, now 17, was about 8 in the dream. Everything happened VERY quickly in this dream.
We were in the parking lot, near our car, when I noticed commotion to my left, far away. Suddenly -- and it was like a "woosh" three GIANT (and I do mean GIANT) GREEN LIZARDS (parents and child, not a baby though) -- rushed through the parking lot and simply passed through.
It happened so quickly that I never felt danger, it was more a sense of awe, as these were like prehistoric creatures and VERY much out of place! (Disclaimer: I'm afraid of snakes, not lizards. These were very much snake-like, with itsy-bitsy legs, but I wasn't afraid)
I remember wondering where they were going, and noticed others standing around in shock, wondering what had just happened, when another came through the parking lot, directly in front of us. It was slightly smaller than the smallest of the first three, but looked identical otherwise.
This one, however, essentially gave birth while on the move through the parking lot and kept going. LOL
The lizard which was just birthed, ALSO gave birth to a lizard only slightly smaller than itself, then sped off.
This happened several times, each time with only one lizard remaining in front of us, slightly smaller in size each time.
The last time this happened the lizard which was birthed was quite small. It was only then that I realized my daughter was dressed in a costume (like Halloween) that looked like a dinosaur/lizard. Not scary or weird...and in the dream it seemed normal, as though it was indeed Halloween.
The final lizard imprinted on her and thought she was it's mother. It was the funniest thing at that point! It chased her around and she didn't want to be its mother (though she wasn't frightened).
Then, everyone who had witnessed this series of events gathered in a very jovial community way, wondering where the lizards had come from, where they were going, what had just happened? It seems someone trustworthy and compassionate (and with expertise...a zoo person or something) came for the remaining lizard.
Weird, but so interesting and funny at the end. :)
