Lizard dream
I had a dream a few nights ago that I just can't shake. It wasn't a bad dream at all...it was just so vivid and unusual that I'm curious as to what you feel it could be suggesting (I do realize dreams are very personal though :)).

There is nothing unusual going on with my daughter; just the normal parental concerns and trials of a busy teenage girl. It's actually quite a smooth spell for us in our relationship, now that I think about it. I am focused on "community." No snake or lizard incidents to speak of which consciously triggered this dream.

I just looked up the meaning of lizard, and since this was the first thing I stumbled upon, I knew I had to post here. ;)

LIZARD - is about dreaming. In our dreams we imagine different futures and choose which we will materialize. Lizard teaches us the importance of respecting and remembering our dreams, incorporating the messages from our dreams into our lives.

Sooooo, in this dream I was in a grocery store parking lot. Very normal environment. The only thing different or unusual was that my daughter, now 17, was about 8 in the dream. Everything happened VERY quickly in this dream.

We were in the parking lot, near our car, when I noticed commotion to my left, far away. Suddenly -- and it was like a "woosh" three GIANT (and I do mean GIANT) GREEN LIZARDS (parents and child, not a baby though) -- rushed through the parking lot and simply passed through.

It happened so quickly that I never felt danger, it was more a sense of awe, as these were like prehistoric creatures and VERY much out of place! (Disclaimer: I'm afraid of snakes, not lizards. These were very much snake-like, with itsy-bitsy legs, but I wasn't afraid)

I remember wondering where they were going, and noticed others standing around in shock, wondering what had just happened, when another came through the parking lot, directly in front of us. It was slightly smaller than the smallest of the first three, but looked identical otherwise.

This one, however, essentially gave birth while on the move through the parking lot and kept going. LOL

The lizard which was just birthed, ALSO gave birth to a lizard only slightly smaller than itself, then sped off.

This happened several times, each time with only one lizard remaining in front of us, slightly smaller in size each time.

The last time this happened the lizard which was birthed was quite small. It was only then that I realized my daughter was dressed in a costume (like Halloween) that looked like a dinosaur/lizard. Not scary or weird...and in the dream it seemed normal, as though it was indeed Halloween.

The final lizard imprinted on her and thought she was it's mother. It was the funniest thing at that point! It chased her around and she didn't want to be its mother (though she wasn't frightened).

Then, everyone who had witnessed this series of events gathered in a very jovial community way, wondering where the lizards had come from, where they were going, what had just happened? It seems someone trustworthy and compassionate (and with expertise...a zoo person or something) came for the remaining lizard.

Weird, but so interesting and funny at the end. :)

1. Ooh! Ooh! I think I've got it! Try this on for size
Choosing one's own reality--I like that a lot. And it seems you have. You said about you and your daughter "It's actually quite a smooth spell for us in our relationship, now that I think about it." And you said the dream was funny, and it also involved mothers and babies/"youth"-sized lizards. And your daughter was dressed as a lizard.

Seems like you were observing your relationship with your daughter, and are laughing that it's going well. And, let's face it, that's saying something, when you have to deal with a teenage girl! I'll bet you had some rough times when she was, what, 14, 15, 16? But now she's coming out of the hellish teen years and is becoming more calm, stable, and mature, perhaps?

Great dream! :hi:

2. Love it! Filled with wonder and comedy.
The first thing that jumps out at me is that since lizard means dreams, and there were lots of them including your daughter in a lizard costume, perhaps it means that your dreams (including one of the highest, IMO, having a child - especially one that you become friends with) are coming and/or about to come to fruition. And that these dreams that will become reality will help out a lot of people by bringing them together in joy and community.

Grocery store also means abundance to me, bringing necessary and not so necessary things into daily life to improve or maintain the quality of life

4. Very interesting, KoB....

I thought it was so interesting that the meaning of lizard is "dreams," and I love your interpretation of that interpretation! :bounce:

In keeping with that thought, it seems the "shock" aspect -- the lizards being unlike any ve ever seen before -- is interesting. Doing or creating things completely different, like this new reality we speak of, and that even though change and the unknown can be frightening or disconcerting (represented by my dream lizards), there was no need to fear at all. In fact, they swooped in and through so fast there wasn't even time to BE afraid! :)

5. What hit me initially was "restoration"
Lizards can reproduce body parts. ie...if they lose a tail, they can grow a new one. If they lose a limb...they can grow a new one. All else everyone mentioned may have relevance, as I don't consider myself an interpreter of dreams. However this said to me "new beginnings", and restoration.

6. Wow, THAT is interesting, too, JA!!!

And you're so right -- that is the unique thing about lizards, even to me (I'm not a science whiz, so I only know the basics and more obvious things...lol).

Restoration, renewal, regeneration....hmmmm...........

More    to you, My Friend. Take care of you, please.

7. Thank you sweetheart.
I am in "countdown" mode right now. Zero hour is between 5 and 6 o"clock. I have everything ready of his for them to take with him. Pray that I don't hyper ventilate and pass out. Each time I think of his walking out the door, I get light headed, and weak kneed. I'm on here now to divert my mind for a little while. Oh Lord.........

9. My daughter was here with me, reading your comment....

and I told her about Flurry.

And we both started tearing up; we just can't imagine what you're going through right now.

But she also said, "What a generous, selfless act, to give Flurry more people to share his love with."

It's so true. You and Flurry have gifted one another with so much, and that remains forever.

Today it probably feels the world is coming to an end...the heartbreak is so intense...but the sun will rise tomorrow.

And we'll be here. Holding your hand.....

10. Give your daughter my love too.
It's 10:30PM here, and so far I am holding it together pretty well. I'm sure that your's and everyone elses prayers and light and good thoughts are sustaining me. I can feel all of the love and support here tonight.
Tomorrow morning will be a different story. That's when my cat (his brother) will realize he's gone. They were very close, and I'm not looking forward to the constant meowing while he's searching for him. He's an oriental, and is VERY vocal. I don't know if I can bring myself to sleep in my bedroom tonight without his crate in there, and his gentle snoring. OK...that's it for now cause I'm starting to lose it. Love you bunches

13. That's what really gets me - no fear in
anyone who was there - even your baby was being playfully chased.

It would make such a nice children's story. What popped in my head is of a little girl wearing different costumes and the same kind of creatures she dons come to life, but they're cool critters like the giant lizards

8. I get a different story...
Since Lizard represents dreaming and they were all around and birthing an even being part of your dauhters reality... I think it could be a symblo that the dreamtime is closer than you may think. And your daughter may be awakening to that as well..

The energy of these creatures is very benign, though... they are just moving through, much like our vision and creations do. Remember to also look around you in your 'waking' time and see these signs of the 'abnormal' that will remind you we ARE shifting the abric of our realities. So if we can realize we are walking in a lucid dream even as we 'think' we are awake...we can make changes instantly!
And your daughter wants to mirror that energy as well...even if she may not want to 'mother it' she still wants to dress up like it....and have the experience.

wow, cool dream OGR. I have had some doozies lately but they seem to shatter as soon as the sun comes up:) I guess it's just 'night school' for the spirit!

11. Not very good at interpreting dreams, but
this morning when I opened my bedroom window to let the warm air in, there was a little green lizard sitting between the window and the screen. I caught it and took it outside before a cat made a toy out of it. Not even sure how it got there, because the screen was still tight and fitting correctly. But it seemed grateful to be outside and away from predator-puss.

Just odd that you dreamed of lizards, and I found one this a.m.
