November 2009 Prayer, Light and Healing Requests

People can be unreasonable, illogical and self-centered.
Love them anyway.

If you do good, people might accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives.
Do good anyway.

If you are successful, you could win false friends and true enemies.
Succeed anyway.

The good you do today might be forgotten tomorrow.
Do good anyway.

Honesty and frankness make you vulnerable.
Be honest and frank anyway.

The biggest person with the biggest ideas can be
shot down by the smallest person with the smallest mind.
Think big anyway.

What you spend years building may be destroyed overnight.
Build anyway.

People really need help but may attack if you help them.
Help people anyway.

Give the world the best you have and you might get kicked in the teeth.
Give the world the best you've got anyway.

1. Beautiful sentiments.
I ask for wisdom to figure out what I need to do to lose weight. I have started exercising and gaining weight. I have a dead thyroid so it's not really simple. I have been reading some cutting edge stuff by Mary Shomon. If anyone is interested it's here:

An Interview with Kent Holtorf, MD

2. Here's hoping the right guidance comes to you.
My suggestion: Reiki and/or acupuncture, if you haven't had either lately. No, neither of these things are miracle weight loss cures, but they may put you in closer touch with your intuition, and therefore help you receive guidance more effectively.

Good luck!

4. I second that, MoL
I'm sick and tired of all this flab. I saw the article you linked to on Facebook and am planning on asking my holistic m.d. about leptin and reverse T3 the next time I see her. When I had fibroids six years ago, she put me on Glucophage; I wonder if she'd do that again, even though my blood sugar is much, much better and my fibroids are being kept under control with my vitamin D supplements.

In any case, sending you light for insight (and when you get it, can you share it with me? :D )

5. Some light for the haters, please
Every once in a while a cavalier, hateful post here on DU (not in ASAH of course--elsewhere) manages to sneak through my shield and breaks my heart. The idea that some people actually live with so much hate roiling around in their insides is just unfathomable to me, and I feel so bad for them. So please, some good vibes for those whose hearts are "two sizes too small." Thanks! :hi:

P.S. Lovely opening, Dream--BEAUTIFUL picture! I have a soft spot for purple flowers--going to try to grow some next year now that I have more light in my yard.

6. If I may add a thought to the cosmos
Edited on Sun Nov-01-09 06:55 PM by rumpel
on edit: It just hit me the flowers & cosmos...duh!

It reminds me a bit of the Japanese saying "fall 8 times, get up 8 times"..

FAMILY

But here is an oddity, dear ones: For those of you who wish to
go the route, to vibrate at a higher rate and stay current with
the information and the energy that is being passed to this
planet, there is a group of humans who will understand and be
with you. Many will not be shocked to understand this realization
and understand that these I speak of are the new children of this
planet. For they will see what you're doing and will hold your
hand and look at you. And in their own way, their very own cells
will congratulate you for what you are doing for them, and many of
them will do the same. For it will be easier for them than for
you within this 24 year window, for they come in with new aware-
ness and a feeling of purpose. Family!

Prayers and light for all those here who want to make various changes in their lives and habits, that they find the help that they need.

I just bought a cheap infrared sauna. I plan to use it every day to help me rev up my metabolism. It sure makes me sweat (I've only used it twice).

10. Help with healing illness & a broken heart
I have been feeling crummy for a couple days now and plan to call the doc...but I wonder how much is the flu and how much is just hormones & depression...? As you know I broke up with my BF last week and it is still lingering in my head...

I wonder if he REALLY re-connected with his ex over the weekend, if she was all he wanted her to be .. or if he is feeling the loss of ME and wishes he could reach out and call me back...I wonder if he will come to his senses or if we will ever be friends even... and I miss him, both the the idea of him...and HIM when we were close and really happy together...I miss being held and wish i could take that forward..

so ya, aches all over, and my heart hurts too. I haven't cried in a few days, but just writing this morning makes me all misty eyed...

21. Such a beautiful picture, and such wonderful, uplifting
sentiments! Thank you.

My daughter has a chance to play in a woodwind quartet to accompany five performances of "The Marriage of Figaro." She loves it best when she can use her musical talents in opera. This would also be a way to advance her career. And the money won't hurt. So many musicians have such a hard-knock life. The money can be scarce.

Vibes please, if you would be so kind, for my continuing anxiety over our Democratic central committee. Sometimes I think I should walk away from this, because there are so many mean-spirited people involved in it. There might be a way to help Democrats that would harm me less. Even if it looks like defeat for my goals, it might not be, in the long run. (I feel sometimes like this is an unworthy request).

22. I will certainly send vibes to your daughter in reference to...
the quartet. If it is for the highest good of all involved, I ask that she get this position if she hasn't already gotten it.

In reference to your Democratic central committee, please don't think that this is an unworthy request. It is something that is making you suffer. I was going to mention in the past the possibility that maybe that group was no longer for you, but I hesitated since you'd never before mentioned that you might consider that. You have the absolute right to take care of yourself. If you're leaving there every time feeling as though you've gone through a war, I wouldn't blame you at all for ultimately deciding that it's time to find a better political home. I will ask for the Universe to give you clarity of vision to decide what is best for you in reference to this situation and, if moving on is best, to help find you your new political home. Just remember that you deserve to be treated with respect. People can have differences but still work as a team and act with integrity. Please don't hesitate to take care of yourself.

36. The fun thing about my daughter's prospective position is that
a friend has asked her to share the job with him. He can do three performances if she can do five. It dovetails perfectly with their other symphony jobs.

Music can be competitive and dog eat dog. Sometimes the professional jealousies are cruel. I like it that she has a colleague who thought of her and wants to share.

93. Your help must be working!
My daughter called me today and told me that this last week was the best musical week of her life. And she is someone who has won some very prestigious awards in her lifetime!

Someone who is a sponsor and knows the Chicago Symphony flute section quite well compared her to the principal of the Chicago Symphony.

I asked her if that would help her get into the CSO. She says no, she has to earn that. But now that she has had a taste of having time for a life outside of music and some friends, she may not want that. She likes her life in Madison.

Thank you for your help. Her recent successes will help her make a choice. Does she want to put everything behind her that is not music? Or does she want to have a less stressful career that combines some teaching and some performing?

I pray that she will be guided to the right choice for herself.

39. Please hold a good thoughts
Got my dad back home from the nursing home last week on a rainy and dreary night. He's moving with a walker, and sometimes with a cane, but he's far from fully mobile. Spent the weekend before prepping the living room for his room, his actual room is upstairs.

Hold a good thoughts for my mother, who has the lion's share of the work, and has to walk with 2 canes, but she can drive and get around.

P.S. This is also a testimony of the need to take care of yourself while you're young and strong, because being old and sick really sucks. :(

40. So, so TIRED
Literally, not spiritually this time.

I've had whatever illness MG Jr. had a couple of weeks ago, and the biggest symptom is a fever that lasts for a week. Today is day 7 for me, and I'm pretty sure the fever is lessening, but I've been sleeping like an absolute rock every night and can't seem to get moving during the day. My eyes are burning and I just want to go back to bed. I feel like when I had mono in college (which makes sense, I suppose, as that's a virus, right?)

Anyway, can y'all send some good vibes to help me kick this thing once and for all? Thanks! :hi:

A true confession. . .

I totally stole the image on this thread as well as the quotation and forwarded it to all the people in my address book.

Mea culpa.

It was simply too beautiful and breathtaking not to share.

May healings be available to *ALL* who are suffering on this thread and to all of us forevermore.

May all old stupid conflicts be mollified.

May all those suffering in Colorado and all the other places in the world, be healed as quickly as they will allow.

May peace surrender on this planet ASAP.

Great blessings to you all.

Mine has been touchy lately and today I aggravated things by flipping my Mom's mattress (while trying to keep her from helping and hurting herself) and then hauling in and putting on a 4" memory foam bed topper (dang those are heavy and unwieldy suckers- again while trying to keep her from helping and hurting herself. Next time I am going to make her leave the room so I don't rush myself trying to get things done before she helps herself to more aches and pains.

thank you all who have already sent to my Mother's aching back :grouphug:

Mostly with the intention that I be able to deal with necessary life change. Change is good. Right? Right?

62. Yes, change is usually good, but it often doesn't feel that way...
to security-oriented people like us, BI. We just have to handle it as best we can until the change occurs, and then we can get into our familiar, secure routine again.

I think that I understand the stress that you're currently feeling. I'm sending light and calming vibes your way. Don't forget your Rescue Remedy (you've made me a real believer in it), and don't forget to breathe. When I'm going through changes like this, it helps me to think about how things will be after the change has occurred when I'm in my new and, by that time, comfortable environment.

This is something for which you've worked so hard and waited so long... :)

64. Please pray for Celeste and send her healing energies
I recently heard about an old high school friend of mine from my brother, and I went to see her today. Her name is Celeste and she was a beautiful girl who had a beautiful family. She married a handsome guy and she seemed to have it all, took care of her kids and never had to work. Today Celeste is in a hospital bed 24/7 on a ventilator, with a feeding tube and catheter. She has no motor skills below her head, yet she feels pain all over all the time. She has Lew Garricks Disease and doesn't expect anything to get better. She's only 53 years old. She tried to talk to me and no sound came out. It was difficult at times to know what she was saying, but very easy other times. She kept saying to me, "I love you so much and have missed you." She also said, "Can you believe this? It's just awful." Several times, we both broke down together in tears. It was very emotional and disheartening.

Please send light and any healing energies you can muster to sweet Celeste. No one should ever have to live like this. I'm really praying for a miracle or one hell of a manifestation.

67. I'm not even sure what to ask for
I was wondering if I should have posted in the "what the hell's going on?" thread. Mostly, it's like this. I work in an industry that encourages people to partner or group up -- critique partners, critique groups. For some unknown reason, the groups form, and I'm not included. I just asked to be admitted into an existing group of people I know well, and they rejected me.

If I wasn't friendly or whatever, I could see it, but I just don't understand why it seems like others group, and I'm outside.

Mostly, I'm wondering what I'm doing wrong.

If anyone has any kind of illumination in this area, that would be great. ;-)

Thank you,
Julie

I know how that hurts. :(

You seem like a very friendly, sweet person; I don't get any negative or difficult vibes when I interact with you on-line. I'd be really happy to let you in my group, and I wouldn't feel that way about everyone.

I will ask that you be given whatever information you need to rectify this situation quickly and easily. I'm not getting any information to pass along to you except that I don't think that you're doing anything wrong.

a health condition linked to cancer. Don't want to get more specific than that. He was given a bunch of tests this morning to assess the extent of the damage, and the family won't know anything more until next week.

My sister is very upset. Thankfully, coverage is not an issue for them at this time, but naturally, the consequences of this dx could be dire. Send whatever support you feel appropriate to E. and S. in Ventura, CA.

80. My Mom finally went to the doctor - she has a ruptured disc
I had been urging her to go and finally she couldn't stand the pain. Monday he prescribed muscle relaxant which sent her right to sleep so she could only take it at night before sleep. He said if she didn't get better by Wednesday he would send her for a MRI which was done yesterday. Today he called and said she has one disc ruptured and he wants to refer her to a surgeon to see if she can do PT or needs more. Having known many people who end up worse after back surgery I am hoping and praying he says Physical Therapy is right for her kind of injury. Her doctor won't be able to get her into the specialist for several weeks so in the mean time she is going to try acupuncture with someone who was very helpful to my Grandmother who has multiple ruptured discs & others in the family as well for other problems. She would have tried the acupuncturist before this except this a 3 hour round trip if the traffic cooperates.

Please continue to send vibes her way as she is in a lot of pain. I am giving her reiki every day and trying to retrain her to be more careful how she lifts things (since she won't stop and ask for help) and pay careful attention to how she sits making sure she has enough back support, never sitting at an angle, etc. basically the stuff I learned so as to not aggravate the heck out of my own back esp. when I have overdone and did myself in.

She is in a lot of pain and I asked if the doc talked about something stronger than otc pain meds but he didn't tho he did say the surgeon which she won't see for weeks might rec cortisone injections. I will ask her to talk to him again about appropriate pain management because she is miserable from the constant pain for over a week now. I am leery of this as normally he doc loves to medicate the heck out of everything and I hope if he does prescribe something it isn't too strong.

rumpel I hope your back is much better and continues to be as healthy as possible. My biological grandmother had a very bad back injury that left her disable over 30 yrs ago. The best the specialists offered back then offered was surgery with 90% odds of ending up in a wheelchair unable to walk *after* surgery. They were baffled she refused surgery with 90% chance of worse disability.

90. Family drama, achy back & thanks for all the vibes for my Mom
Mom still is in pain from sciatica tho the back is not as bad now down to a 2 or 3 during the day whereas before it was 9. Muscle spasms in the bback stopped bbut now they are in her left leg along with the sciatica. am bugging her to talk to the doc about pain management & see if he can give her a temporary disability card for handicapped parking so she doesn't have to walk 1/2 mile when getting her hair done, etc. I have her taking the homeopathic hypericum (st john's wort) for pain but it doesn't help much :( The amino DLPA helps some but doesn't seem to effect the sciatica and accompanying spasms. Her doc had prescribed a musle relaxant that is too strong & puts her right to sleep so she only takes one right before bed & she still hasn't talked to him about a smaller does or if there is something else that won't throw her for a loop so she can safely drive herself to work :/

92. I gave her an arnica cream which has several other homepathics in it
including hypericum which helps my aches & pains but doesn't do much for her :( I will look up traumeel and see if it has similar or different ingredients. We are putting ice packs on her back tho I am bugging her to talk to her doc about exactly how long we should do this as all he said was wait until the surgeon evaluates in several weeks, never mind it hurts to walk or stand more than a few minutes and as I said before the medication to stop muscle spasms is so strong she goes right to sleep in the middle of the day. I asked her to call her doctor tomorrow and ask about taking 1/2 or 1/4 tablet to see if she can't get some relief without being put into hibernation. According to the mayo clinic and other medical sites ice packs are a usual therapy for herniated disc but they did not say how often or how long.

My teenage son has not been the same since a girl her liked "broke up" with him at the end of summer. He's so bright and talented and has so much to offer the world. here is the whole story:

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=389x7105778

Please pray for this family, and most of all for this young man to be SAFE and to find the will to be able to get away from this situation. I hope the resources are available for him to have an escape hatch...
