October 2009 Prayer, Light and Healing Requests

 THE RIVER OF LIFE…

Once a people lived along the banks of the river of life…

The river of life is a river of sweet water, that awakens the seeds of spring and nourishes all growing things…
The river of life is a storm wind, blowing fresh across the earth..
The river of life is the deep molten fire that shakes the continents…

And the people should have had all they needed for happiness and joy,
But they were plagued by a terrible monster, the triple-headed monster of Greed, Hate and War.

Greed sucked up all the colors of life and locked them inside his fortress…
Hate severed the threads of love and taught the people to fear each other…
War threatened destruction to anyone who opposed the monster’s rule…

And the people were separate, and afraid, and poor…
The threads of connection were frayed…
      The fabric of care unravelled…
And War took the young and marched them off to slaughter and die in places far away…
      Greed stole their future...

The river of life ran dry.

The women saw the springs go barren, the new sprouts fail, the trees die, and the hills turn brown…

And they wept and mourned, and didn't know what to do.

The women, too, were divided, for some had more and some had less.
Old wounds and present injustices kept them apart.

But as War shook his fist, and threatened to unleash
      weapons to destroy the earth...

The women turned to each other, They said: "We are scraps of a torn fabric,
but if we tie them together,
We can bind wounds, dry tears,
weave a net to carry heavy loads.."

"We must amplify love, and throw off dread,
Take back our power and spin a thread,
A life line, held in our strong hands,
A living web of shining strands."

"And our hands remember how to spin.
We spin freedom on the rising wind,
We spin threads of life, the cords of fate,
We spin love into a river that can overrun hate,"

"We spin justice burning like a flaming star,
We spin peace into a river that can overcome war.
And if you want to know where true power lies,
Turn and look into your sisters’ eyes…"

      "So come mothers and grandmothers,
      Lovers and daughters,
      Come spinners and weavers,
      Tool makers, potters,
      Dancers and dreamers,
      Fixers and changers,
      Singers and screamers,
      Forget all the dangers,
      Come ancestors, guardians, Goddesses too,
You who teach us, you who speak true,
You who plant, and you who reap,
You who soar and you who creep,
You who cook, and you who drum,
You who have been, and you yet to come,
You who fight with the sword,
You who fight with the pen,
      Unreasonable women,
      Unmanageable men,
Come harpies and banshees and gorgons and Witches,
Come sweet loving hearts and furious bitches!"

"Break the chains that have kept us bound,
Weave a web to pull the monster down.
In the face of truth, no lie can stand,
Weave the vision, strand by strand."

"We are sweet water, we are the seed,
We are the storm wind to blow away greed.
We are the new world we bring to birth,
The river rising to reclaim the earth."

It would be wonderful if this could be worked out in a way that works for everyone involved since they both seem to truly love these children. However, first I add my intention that he be permanently released from prison very soon. (This or something better for the highest good of all involved.)

13. a few drops of extra energy and light
sent my way would be oh so helpful. My trip into the dark side is exhausting. On weekends I barely recover before having to dive back into the cesspool again. I'd like to smudge the evil energy away when I get home, but they've been keeping us to the last minute for the past 2 weeks, so I don't get home until very late and too exhausted to take much care of myself and remember why I've been sent there.

So far, the only corruption I've uncovered is the dirty, lowdown otten tricks they are playing on us new employees. I wouldn't be surprised to find them on a list of companies that buys "peasant life insurance." That, in itself, speaks volumes...

18. I'm back...this time not for me
Edited on Mon Oct-05-09 06:33 AM by northernlights
But for my elderly gelding, Algiers. He's just had his 3rd injury in 6 weeks. First, a mild re-sprain of an old injury. Not a problem. Then a kick in the face. Scary looking, but was clearly not a fracture, just big hematoma and abrasion. It's healing up just fine.

And then last night, from the swelling, I'd say about 15 minutes before I came out to feed dinner, he did something major to his hock. He's what we call "3-legged lame," i.e. his left rear is non-weight bearing. He can barely hobble around. His hock was very swollen. There is no external injury, not even any mud so I don't think it's a kick. Also, most of the swelling was to the inside of it. So it's probably soft tissue, like he wrenched his hock. Dahli has been an absolute b*tch to him lately, establishing herself as 'alpha' mare and 'herd leader.' It's not an area I can bandage, so supportive treatment of the leg will be tough. I was able to cold hose it for about 5 minutes last night, which I think did ease some swelling.

Last night I dreamed he had healed up over night and was running around. I'm afraid it was his spirit freed from his body. I'm trying to prepare myself for the worst-case. He's 24 years old, so on the one hand healing will take longer, on the other hand unless he regains some weight-bearing ability quickly, this will be very hard for him to recover from...It's the same joint my 1st horse fractured 39 years ago.

I've been avoiding getting up this morning. Signing off now to head down for breakfast and assess the situation.

20. it's funny (not) how when I'm totally braced for worst case
it turns out not to be. I was literally mentally running through the list of mostly imcompetent local vets trying to figure out who I'd have euthanize him if it came to it, and wondering if I'd be able to bury him here, which would be the most affordable solution. And figuring out what to do about Dahli, who can't be alone. I figured I'd give her back to her breeder and just give it all up. Easier to dump this place and start over without horses. And feeling very bitter about it all.

Thank you so much, IHAD.   He greeted me bright-eyed this morning. The swelling was not too much worse than last evening -- about as good as could be expected. From the mess in his stall, I could tell he'd been able to move around somewhat.

And then, while I was cleaning his stall, he actually put some weight on the injured leg to rest the 'good' one for about a minute or so. He's hobbling around a lot better than he could last night.

He's also accepting being stuck in his stall for the day with good grace. (Unlike a few years ago when he nearly tore the barn apart after a bad fall, so I had to turn him out with injury).

So, as of the moment, it's looking as positive as it can.

22. I am really, really, really tired of
not having any money.

I'm sorry to be a broken record; it's just that it seems to be a never-ending struggle and I just don't see it getting any better. Husband is still second-string and that may change; but we have no idea when. The owner is now swearing that he 'never said anything about $75 a night' and husband is afraid of having that confrontation; so I believe that's a lost cause. I have returned to work to find myself (as I'm sure Karen and others would not be surprised about) almost invisible to customers. I literally walked with $0 the last four nights/shifts that I worked. The club is new and everyone is nice and supportive; but it makes me feel as if I am too old. I've talked with some other ladies of my age range across the country and it isn't just me; so that's a good thing...but there just aren't enough customers and I am not willing to do what it takes to please some of the ones we have. I can see in the long run there will probably be money here; but we need it now - not later. We're spending more money (hair;nails;tanning stuff; various makeup items;gas) on me working than we would have if I just stayed home; so I told husband I'm giving it one more week and if I have the same return I'm quitting. There's no sense in me wasting the money to be prepared for work when I can't really be prepared (don't have the money for the gym; etc. so that I can feel as if I'm really on top of my game) and will just end up feeling old and ugly (note here: I don't let this get to me for long; but I don't want to put myself in a situation over and over again that will reinforce those feelings; true or not. I can usually talk myself out of that state of mind; but it takes a little bit).

Don't let anyone, anywhere tell you this is a recession-proof industry. It may be afloat at the moment; but there are girls reporting that clubs in Vegas are now routinely asking for $200 house fees per night per girl (that's the stage rental fee); and taking about 50% of their money in other fees. An acquaintance in Phoenix has felt it was so bad there, that she is in Dallas; and working with another friend who is now driving up from Austin for the same reason. Another acquaintance in San Diego/CA general said she isn't making a living wage either.

I feel like i keep hitting a brick wall with my head. I still love what I do; but again - there is no situation in which to do the job correctly at the moment. I fear that when such a place comes into existence; I will be way too old to work there.

Before I get any I-told-you-so's; I'd again like to stress that the club I am in treats me very well; is grateful I am there; and is clean and a generally good place to be - it's just the economy and the expectations that this industry has cultivated over the past 8 years or so. Any feelings of inadequacy are mostly self-inflicted and a product of my high expectations of myself.

There, venting is over and I'm sorry to dump on you all again. Just a big hug is all I am asking for...;)
Thank you.

23. Some light for the hubby, please?
He's decided to leave his present job, which makes sense, as it's a very frustrating situation and he's at the end of his rope. I support his decision. There are quite a few other jobs out there, which is heartening (he would never leave one job without finding another one first).

He had his first interview today, but both he and the interviewer realized that he wouldn't be a good fit--they need an entry-level kind of person. No problem; he wasn't holding out much hope for that one in the first place. But I can tell he's a little down--not because of this interview, but because he really, really likes another opening and they haven't contacted him for an interview yet. What makes it worse is this first place called him within 24 hours; it's been a week on the other one, and nothing. That's not a long time, but because the other one was so fast, it makes it seems like the other place isn't interested (when in reality they are probably just collecting resumes over a longer stretch of time). But he's the kind of guy that, the more days that go by, the more depressed he gets--he starts to think he's not worthy of a job that he actually likes blah blah blah.

So if we could send him a little spirit-lifting ASAH mojo, I'd really appreciate it. (And perhaps we could light a fire under that foot-dragging job...!) Thanks all! :hi:

P.S. As always, sending light to all who need it upthread.

25. I was one of the people who dragged my feet when hiring.
I hated to interview people when I was a manager, and it was so complicated with so many other people being involved. You're right that a week is nothing at all for some companies.

I'm sending supportive light Mr. MG's way. Additionally, I'm praying that he finds the perfect position for him in terms of location, pay, management, coworkers, type of work that he enjoys, security, amount of time on the job, and all other things that are important to him. May it be a win/win situation in all ways for both him and his future employer. (This or something better for the highest good of all involved.)

So, she needs a lot of help. Let's hope she continues to get it.

41. Much love and light to Yasmina27.
May she find the help that she needs in the physical world, and may she find the spiritual comfort to give her relief from the demons (not literally) that are haunting her. May this dark night end for her very soon. (This or something better for the highest good of all involved.)

42. I ask for healing energy for 1) me, 2) this forum, and 3) my country, in that order.
I won't lie; for the the last several weeks, I have been picking up some very negative energy around me as well as in my city and (it feels like) the world at large. I don't know how else to describe the energy except "sleazy." It feels heavy, corrupt, broken. The last time I felt anything like it was around the time of *'s third State of the Union address, one of the creepiest nights I've had in a looooong time. So my request is not just for protective light around me personally, but for all of us, in case the energy really does foreshadow an unpleasant national event. Thank you in advance.

44. Help with wellness & kids & ME!
Edited on Tue Oct-20-09 09:39 AM by FirstLight
My teen started sniffling this weekend, he's staying home today. I got the sniffles by late Sunday and a sore throat by yesterday, and now the youngest is snarfling...

not the flu, but still unpleasant and we need to stay strong & healthy!
doing Airborne, vitamins, but not sure what else to do...
and the doctor will just say "it's a virus" since they hoard anti-biotics these days...

Please send some health and strength this way... My Teen has a Drill Team Meet in Spanish Springs this weekend and he is the teamleader.
...And I am supposed to finish my LAST CLASS at CSU Sac this Friay, but now I'm worried who's gonna take care of my sick kids?

worry doesn't help, I know... but things are crazy enough around here without illness too!
Snot, Be-GONE!!!

51. My best fiend's daughter has the H1n1 - 13yo w/ athsma
Her name is Samantha Dawn and she is a sweet and wonderful girl...and is very sick.
She could be in the ER by tomorrow of she has ANY trouble breathing. (she has already had an episode yesterday of feeling like she could not breathe, and today the fever and the full force of the flu hit her hard.)

She is in that High Risk group (age and asthma) and we need to surround her with Light!
My friend (darci) called me crying - this is one of her greatest fears... so i am thinking she needs some Angelic comfort too..

Thanks for all your reiki, light & love here ! I know it works! :grouphug:

55. FirstLight, I'm sending and praying for Samantha and also for Darci.
May the potential full force of this illness sidestep this sweet child. May her recovery begin now, and may her breathing stabilize throughout the healing process so that her asthma is not an issue. (This or something better for the highest good of all involved.)

FirstLight, has she seen a doctor? I'm assuming that she has, but if she hasn't, please strongly encourage Darci to do so if there's any indication at all that this would help. (As you know, what we do helps, but medical care is most important in situations like this.)

57. I'm so glad to hear it. I needed to make sure so that the mods know.
(Otherwise, they might lock the thread.) Also, it really is important that standard medicine be involved in the healing process as much as possible. (We're the backup rather than the first line of defense.)

I'll continue to send, FirstLight.
