Happiness is....
6 kitties in the bed with me, the 2 shy ones on the window sill, DU on my laptop, and KO on the TV. :loveya:

I can't get them all in one shot... they are spread out in 2s... parts of 4 kitties visible in this bad pic from my cell phone. I am unable to get up to refill my wine glass or to go potty, because (of course) the comfort level of my kitties must NOT be disturbed!

1. How do you even move with 6 cats in bed with you?
My 3 sleep on me and pin me flat to the bed. Right now I'm typing with only my left hand because a cat is sleeping on my right arm and he weighs like 500 lbs. I can't move.

2. LOL
When it is warm, they tend to lay around me, but not on top of me. I'll usually have 2 or 3 to the left or right of my feet, 1 or 2 between my knees/calves, and 2 more on either side at head/shoulder level. The 2 shier ones are usually on the cat tree by the foot of the bed in cool weather or on the window sill in warm weather (walking by now and then for some petting). It got into the 70s today, so everyone is nice and warm.

When a cold front comes through, I wake up feeling like Gulliver trapped by the Kittiputians! Everyone will be eiither on top of or directly in in contact with some part of my body, effectively pinning me down under the blanket. Thankfully they have not yet figured out how to get UNDER the blanket. When that day comes, I imagine a constant shift rotation of kitties getting toasty under the covers, coming out for air, going back, etc.

4. OK, I count *five* large German shepherds in one bed.
That's a lot of dog. I'm sure it's very warm and cozy.

They belong to a friend of mine, who intended to sell the pups, but became so attached that she kept them all....

6. I hear you, Lisa
on an average night- and depending on whether I have too many clean clothes needing to be put away taking up space on my bed- I will have anywhere from three to seven sleeping on me- snuggled under the covers with me or on the pillow with me. It is like receiving a hug from a cat all night long!

10. Nixon took over my son's bed when he left for college.
Son complains of the dog hair when he comes to visit. I always try to get rid of the bulk of it.

12. Why his name is Nixon.
Nixon is my granddog and came to live with me when my son moved to a rental that did not allow pets. He was christened Nixon as said son was reading all of Hunter S. Thompson's books at the time and loved the scene from "Where the Buffalo Roam" where Bill Murray uses NIXON as the attack word for his Doberman. So, a beautiful Liberal Labrador has gone through life having to deal with his moniker. I'm surprised I haven't had to take him to the dog shrink.
