It's all in her Head
We've got a 19 year old cat -- starting around the end of october her head has been stuffed up -- her lungs are clear, and except for a thyroid problem (on meds for that) she is otherwise fine

she's been to the vet twice and has gone through two rounds of anti-biotics. They seem to help, but then the stuffyness comes back

we do heat with wood -- I think this may be part of the problem... but we also have humidifiers going and the cat gets the "steam treatment" in the bathroom -- meaning when we take a shower we bring her into the bathroom to soak up the steam

she has a vet appointment for tomorrow

any suggestions?

1. in my experience
tho not with cats, but with other animals, there is usually something going on that is leading to a recurrent infection like this. i have been though this with a few birds, and it is usually a tumor.
could be an allergic thing, but i would find it odd for it to start at that age.
good luck. having an old pet is hard. every little thing gets you thinking about the end. i lost my 12 1/2 year old boxer last year to swallowing difficulties that led to pneumonia. hard decision. we treated it once, but knew it would keep coming back. at her age, it seemed cruel.
good luck.
