strange dog -- our new foster greyhound
have never seen a dog do this before....

our foster greyhound (Linda) will go into her crate, curl up on her blanket. Not so strange, lots of dogs do that

but Linda will open her mouth wide, grab a mouthful of the blanket and fall asleep with the blanket stuffed in her mouth. Maybe she should have been named Linus (from Peanuts - security blanket)?

it's pretty much been decided that when she gets adopted that the blanket will go with her...

1. That's too funny
I'd have a hard time parting with someone with such a unique personality. How old is she? I'm wondering if she was weaned at a very young age. Our first rescue was 8 weeks when we got her and she'd already been in the shelter for a few weeks. she used to suck our fingers. We figured she was weaned too early and it was her way of attaching herself to us. She's 10 years old now. It's funny what you remember...

I love the greyhound "smile". They are such gentle giants.

6. She was likely seperated from her mother too early.
It's a harmless and cute habit. Just let her do her thing.

7. Many years ago, I had a Maine Coon who liked to suck
on blanket fringe. He would get a couple of fringes in his mouth and nurse away, kneading his paws and purring up a storm. I guess he was taken away from his mother too early, but he kept up this habit most of his life. I always thought is was so sweet.

Linda is stunning. What a beautiful brindle. Sounds like she is trying to fit into the pack.
