foster greyhound arriving on Wednesday
well, we're doing it again. taking in a foster greyhound.

new greyhounds are arriving on Wednesday. This means the weekend is prepping the house - setting up the crate, figuring out where to put his/her food bowl and generally dog-proofing the area

will post a pic when we get him/her

1. Cool!
And good for you for fostering - wish there were more people like you out there :)

Please do post some pics when you get a chance...I've always wanted to adopt a greyhound!

2. they are great dogs
usually referred to as 45mph couch potatoes

one misconception about greyhounds is that they are "hyper" or need alot of room to run. They are really very laid back and gentle dogs.

another concern people have is regarding cats or having other small animals in the home with a greyhound. Some greyhounds, like some other dogs, do not get along with cats - but the vast majority of the greyhounds pay no attention to cats.

We have 3 dogs - 2 of which are greyhounds, and 5 cats. in the past year or so we've also fostered 3 greyhounds (one of which we adopted) and haven't had a problem with them interacting with our cats. Initially there is some "curiosity" with the cats - but after a day or so the greyhounds have little interest in the feline furballs.
