180 Search Assistant Alert

That's what I get when I start up my computer. It seems that 180 Search Assistant was removed from my computer when I ran Spybot. The alert claims that some of my programs will not function properly unless I re-install 180 Search Assistant. I have to be on the web to do this. But everything seems to be working properly. So what do you say? Should I put this back on my computer or tell it to go away?

1. Make it DIE!!!

Kill it. It's nothing but spyware.

This is one of those programs that Spybot has trouble removing completely. I'm not sure if Adware by Lavasoft can do it better, but you might try it if you haven't. The two programs tend to compliment each other.

Anyway, here are some instructions for manual removal if you can't get Adware to do it for you:

Whatever you do, do not reinstall it. The so-called "alert" is just a scare tactic used by a piece of the program that lingers when the bulk of it is removed.

I also have Ad-Aware and I ran that, too. I will try to zap the remaining files by using the link you provided.
