Video and audio editing question
I do a lot of video editing and with some of the clips I have, I would like to be able to separate the dialogue from the background music.

When I try to isolate, by clipping the surrounding sections it doesn't make for a smooth edit.

Is there software available that can help with this? I want to get all the dialogue, but without the background music and still have a smooth clip.

Thanks

1. Have you tried EQing it out?
If it isn't a persistant noise you could try to isolate it reduce or flatten the volume.
If it is persistant, try a multi-band EQ and notch down the frequecies causing the problem.
Either way it would be a fairly intensive fix.
Not like "click a button and you're done".
Sound Forge is good for this sort of thing... and may actually come with an adequate EQ filter.
Audacity is freeware/open source but I'm not sure if it comes with VST filters.
