Why are my personalized icons for DU scrunched?

Can anyone tell me why this is happening? Are there too many pixels uploading or something? It looks like a little girl who got her face caught in the bus door...

HELP! PLEASE!!

I am going to play around with this on photoshop and see if I can fake out DU program, by scrunching my avatar the other way, so when it uploads it stretches out.

48X48 pixels and 3 KB so it adjusts to those parameters.
