Help? w/Microsoft Office 2007

I have Word 2007 and when I open it the (supposed to be blank page) is a document that I created... is there any way to fix this? I have visited the Microsoft site; no help. It has been doing it for about a year and it is just now starting to irritate me...

Everytime I want to create a new document I must erase what is on the opening page in order to get a blank sheet... this is very curious. Any ideas????

1. Word uses the "normal.dot" file as the default document

Somehow a previous document you worked on got saved as the normal.dot file.

All you have to do is delete the normal.dot file, and the next time you start Word a proper "blank" file will get created and saved as the normal.dot file.

The trick is finding the normal.dot file. Here's a link that will walk you through the steps:
