3. Didn't know oil didn't conduct electricity! Slightly off topic question..
...why then do those liquid CPU coolers use water when (if it were to leak) it could damage the PC and cause a fire?

Just wondering.

8. Not A Joke At All.
PC's cooled by mineral oil are a common experiment in the OC community. Not very practical but they work quite well.

If you would have read all the posts you would have seen my post this morning after I did some research on the subject. I agree putting your post right after the one I did last night gives it more impact but you will see I posted it 3 hours before you came in and said this.
The reason I thought it was a joke was this type of thing has been going around the internet for years with water cooling and hundreds of posts about filling your tower with water and caulking the seams so the water remains in the tower and cools it. Now that is a joke. I have found that oil does not conduct electrical current which I am sure alot of people did not know and based my post on that assumption alone. Although I am not sure what the long term effect of oil soaking into the motherboard and other components will do. I will stick to air cooled for now.

I read it right after I posted. So sue me . I wouldn't do it either. It would drive me crazy to have all of those cables all over the place and it's probably not to safe with kids running around. Besides I get good OC's with air-cooling anyway. For some really exotic cooling solutions, check this out

6. The fan would turn a bit slower.
I see the drives are not in the oil bath.

It looks like they are using motor oil.

Do you have the fan to your Vid card plugged in. If so does it work while submerged?
