Looking for a second hand laptop
I know, especially for students who are in the Techie world, their laptops become obsolete by the time they graduate and so they're in the market to upgrade. Thus, I know I'm not completely nuts in hoping to find a good second hand laptop. My needs are wordprocessing, computer access and a laptop that can play DVDs.

1. This isn;t exactl;y second hand...
but you could look for something at the Dell outlet store. If you by a refurbished or scratch and dent model (the scratches and dents are hardly visible in the ones I've seen) you can save a lot of cash. If you get one with Vista, though, make sure you have 2 GB of memory, and 256 MB of video ram)

3. Costco.
Check their refurbs. Costco runs their own refurbishing depot and their prices are some of the best I have ever seen.

4. Sure
Checkout newegg.com refurb or open box items.
pcretro.com has some good deals occasionally.

5. I always recommend the pawn shops.
They usually have a selection of used laptops, many at a reasonable price. Of course as a precaution you should wipe the hard drive and reinstall everything, but if you have the time and knowledge to do that you can easily come out ahead with a good machine.
