Gadget geeks help me out!
I'm looking for a hand held device to store and view text and picture files. I don't necessarily have to be able to edit the files just view them. This device needs to be compact, that is cell phone/pda size and some degree of weather resistance would be nice as it will see most of its use outdoors.

If it could also combine some of these functions, phone, photo, and GPS it would be perfect. I suspect that I'm looking for some sort of smart phone thingy, but I'm not too up on the lasted gadget tech so I don't even really know where to start looking.

Any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Oh and I need to be able to transfer files from my PC (xp home) to this device. Please help. :)

1. An iPhone or a Windows Mobile device would do what you need.
If you already have a carrier, go to their store and ask to see their Windows Mobile devices - if your carrier is AT&T you can also ask to see an iPhone. The models available will depend greatly on your carrier.

2. Something like Motorola Moto Q?
I don't already have a carrier, but I'm looking at Working Assets and they offer the Motorola Moto Q which seems to have most of the features I'm looking for, but I have no experience with these type of devices so I'm hoping for some suggestions and feedback.

4. Yes, I believe the Q would meet most of the specs you list.
Find the Working Assets page describing the phone - that should confirm what it can do, and what the Working Assets network supports.
