11. That was exactly my same impression!
I laughed at the video, while thinking now how cool is that! :toast:

I do something like that when I freeze whole fresh tomatoes. Once frozen when I want to use in a soup or stew, I just run under hot water for a second, and the skin slips right off.

Mary Ann's idea is a great one! And I will use it for certain when the few times call for peeled potatoes.

2. I found getting a really good peeler with a rotating ceramic blade
made all the difference in the world. I can peel 'em faster than she can dunk them and pull the peels off.

3. A good
peeler would make a big difference. However I still think it's a cool way to peel them lol

5. I almost always leave the skin on in anything make with potatoes, but
I'll tuck this away for a no-peel rainy day. I'll bet kids would find this fun to do. Maybe I'll show my godson next time we cook together. :)

6. I rarely peel potatoes anymore, but that's a neat trick for when I do.

7. I've never found it hard to peel a potato...
I'm pretty fast with a good peeler and I like to dig out any spots I don't want.

Hardest part is flicking the peels into the compost container! It's like a game.

8. Waste of time and water.
It looks neat and fun, but really it doesn't take much time to peel a potato at all. I usually leave them on for most everything, anyway, even mashed.

9. I leave the peel on for everything too
Potato salad and mashed potatoes have SO much more flavor when I simply boil them and mash or slice them. French fries? Leave 'em unpeeled. Scalloped spuds unpeeled? MMMMM!

Really I cannot think of any dish I make that they need to be peeled.

My 2 cents

10. Hi, Cat!
Lots more flavor, not to mention most of the nutrients.

Welcome to C&B. :hi:

13. I don't peel them.
I buy reds or golds and just cut them up before boiling them.

14. Talk about increasing your carbon footprint
If everyone did this every night we would probably need a couple more coal fired power plants.

15. Sorta late reading this, but my two cents for what it is, or isn't worth
My mother taught me to peel potatoes with a paring knife, and I am faster with a knife than anyone using a potato peeler. But I haven't tried that fancy one someone was talking about.
