Substitutes. So I'm about
to make banana bread (have some over-ripe bananas) and I discover that I do not have baking powder. So I hop on the web and research substitutes. I'm told to use baking soda and cream of tartar. *sigh* I rarely bake and if I don't have baking powder, I certainly don't have cream of tartar. Another substitute is yogurt, which I have, but it's suggested to diminish liquid. Well, this banana recipe does not call for any liquid. *sigh* So I finally come upon a site that says one can substitute baking powder for baking soda at a 1-3 ratio, but the taste may be compromised, and the author uses a 1-2 ratio and just uses less salt. Finally a solution that I can live with.

Here is the results. Not too shabby if I say so myself. Although the pic shows a full loaf, rest assured the banana bread is very tasty.

2. Thank you. And actually
I had to go run an errand after the bread was done, and when I came home, yes, the house smelled lovely.

3. Good smells...

Mr. Tesha often tells me that I should step outside....
and come back in so I can appreciate the smells coming from our kitchen.

And your bread definitely looks worth a set back in... mm mm

5. Just 2x and I
reduced the salt. I think it worked out well, and it sure does taste good.
