Brownie cravings last night.
It's that time of the month and I'm craving high-GI carbs again. :P

Thanks to hippywife's brownie thread the other day, I got a hankering for brownies. :D I went to the local Food Lion last night really just to pick up some dental floss, but something caught me eye. They had a gluten free brownie mix. In fact they had a whole line of GF mixes. From Betty Crocker no less. I was intrigued, so I got a box.

These are primarily rice flour and xanthan gum, (besides all the cocoa and sugar) and surprise! they taste wonderful! :9

Yummy! I can satisfy a craving and not upset my stomach! :woohoo:

1. I was so desperate for a brownie
I once made that recipe for Brownies made with the beans....Cured me of that craving....Haven't wanted one since. Netriton has some great low carb--gluten free "bread" products.

And here's the link for the bean brownies they swear are "amazing".

2. I remember there was a mom
with a large family a couple of years ago, who was up against it trying to get her kids to eat veggies.

I swear she had a recipe for brownies with black beans.

No, it's not appetizing to me either.

3. My Mom told me that her Mom made spinach soup for her,
so she'd eat SOME veg, but browned the spinach and called it 'Chocolate Soup!'

4. That's a great website. I can see that I'll be trying some of those recipes.
Thanks for the link. :hi:

5. It's one of my favorites too
I learned how to make a chopped salad with Miso dressing that's out of this world and I've based one of my savory cheesecakes off of one of their recipes. It certainly has given me lots of food for inspiration.
