Sparkly's thread about Mr. Stinky's copper addiction sent me out to TJ Maxx, in search of a small saucepan or two, but no luck. We finally had a Marshall's open, not far of a drive, and a World Market I wanted to investigate, so ...
I went into World Market first and, for the most part, wasn't too impressed. I went through my Pier 1 phase two decades ago, already. Got back to the foods section and saw all the imported beers at higher prices than the super-market, and really wasn't impressed. And then I hit the spice aisle and saw all those little baggies of just about everything you have to buy in gargantuan doses at Whole Foods.
And then I found the tea and kitchen paraphernalia aisle. Because it was an investigative visit, I didn't purchase anything. But like MacArthur, I shall return.
At Marshall's I was so disappointed by the very small kitchen section that I almost didn't notice the clearance tables laden with Calphalon, All-Clad, and tons of other lesser renowned wares. No copper - well, no. They did have some All-Clad try-ply but even at clearance prices, it was still far too costly for me. I'm not a Calphalon user, or I'd have been grabbing left and right.
What I did end up walking out with was a cake mold and an old fashioned, clamp-style, meat grinder.
