a friend visiting from Denver just turned my plum tree harvest...
...into the best plum sauce I've ever eaten. She used this recipe, more or less: http://www.recipezaar.com/99500. It's seriously good stuff. Now she's going to freeze in ice cube trays so I'll have homemade plum sauce all winter long!

1. Sounds YUMMY! I am always looking for good recipes for preserving.
Now I definitely have to hit the FM for local plums.

I had some plums that were at the end of the line, and hubby brought home rock peaches that are inedible. He knows I love peaches, but we just can't get a decent one at the store. So I made a basic peach/plum sauce. I just used cinnamon and cloves, teensy bit of sugar. I took the peels and simmered them separate, put the cornstarch in that liquid, and then added that to thicken the main sauce. Then I put some on some double-churn ice cream - yum. It can go sweet or go asian or whatever I want to do with it. I have a plum tree in the back yard so I can make a bunch of it. I'll definitely remember the idea of freezing some in cubes.

4. Our new plum trees have fruit this first year
I was going to make jam but this idea sounds so good, mike. This is going to be it, frozen cubes and all.
