Okay, I'm indulging this morning for breakfast.
Feeling bruised and battered from political battles and because it is damned cold outside.

Breakfast will be:

Buttermilk pancakes (batter on the thin side to make something slightly more substantial than crepe size) sandwiched together with this fabulous organic cream cheese from a local dairy whipped with a wee bit of confectioner's sugar and lemon zest, and topped with blueberry syrup warmed with fresh blueberries added at the time of the warming. Served with thin sliced ham, and a huge mug of hot coffee.

1. Will you please pass me a napkin. I've drooled all
over my keyboard. All I had was toast with marmalade and tea.

2. Way to live, Skidmore
Treat yourself well to a real 'company' style breakfast. You deserve it for all the political battles you've been fighting in the cold.

4. I'll be indulged in a little while for a late lunch
since I got good news about my post op laser check. I might actually be able to see in another month or so.

I'll be dining on grilled swordfish steak served with a mango-chipotle salsa, barely wilted kale with garlic and a little crushed red pepper, and a baked potato with cooling sour cream as the foil for the hot stuff.

That should get my mercury dose current for the last few years when I was too poor to eat anything but an occasional piece of pollock or rare treat of sole.

5. Glad to hear about your good news, Warpy
I'm starving. I haven't had time to look up today until now. I'll have to rummage around in the desk drawers to see if I have any snacks.

7. Sunday, surprised my hubby with french toast
made with challah, and using real cream, a touch of vanilla, egg and sugar...soaked em up good, cooked them BEAUTIFULLY, with a fantastic warm banana compote ( I had some super ripe ones) with a drizzle of chocolate

Sometime, "company" breakfasts need to be made at home...it was fantastic, and we both fell back to sleep cozied up on the couch, under warm blankies, with full tummies, until later in the afternoon...It was drizzly and snowy and windy and gray and PERFECT for this type of day.

9. Any time you can cuddle and doze is a bonus
if you get to do it with easy french toast and bananas cooked up with whatever combo you want...even us 40 somethings like to cuddle

:)
