Mac users!

We’ve received many requests to make the eBook Store work with Apple® Macintosh® computers, and we wanted to share with you our progress on this front.

An updated version of the eBook Library Software compatible with Mac OS X operating systems will be available by the end of Summer 2009 for download to your computer to enable you to purchase, organize and download content to your PRS505 and PRS700.

Send us your email address, and we will notify you when the update is available.

Thank you,

Your Friends at The eBook Store

1. Good for Sony. Now about those Blu-Ray players...
Firmware updates for OSX? You sold us the effing players without having a finalized format, and we have to have Windoze to update them?

While your at it... Your remote controls, PDAs, the list goes on.

4. PS3 works just fine :)
Now I need to get a hold of Hackintosh and get that working on it :D

The idea of running OS X on a G5 is too good an opportunity to pass up!

Remember, the core processor is a Motorola G5 =]

2. I already use my PRS-505 with my Mac
It just shows up as a USB drive, so I can drag files to it. I don't need no stinking Sony software.

3. I currently use Calibre
It is an Open Source software for mac that allow you to add books to your device. It is like a library management software, you can format the titles of the books, authors and allow you to create categories and even download RSS feeds from many newspapers. I find it very useful.

I sometimes need to buy books from the Sony store (for school) and was the only reason why I put windows on my mac. Now I can save those 25G of space for something useful. If I need to download a free book from google (available only through the Sony Book Reader Win Software) I don't have to reboot my computer on windows anymore (at least I hope).
