Seems like a wide array all over the planet. I've been checking this site daily and today seems kind of busy.

It just seemed interesting to me because the quakes were all over the map today and not centered in any specific area.

3. I started subscribing to the USGS list serve after the 9.0 tsunami quake

just to get an idea of what goes on. I get an email on every quake anywhere in the world that is 5.5 or higher. I was surprised to find out that, on average, I'm getting 4 or even 5 a day. Three or four a week are 6.0 or higher.

It seems more than half are from the Indonesia area which makes sense as after shocks. Still they are aftershocks of at least 2 a day at 5.5 or better which then contributes to 50% of the number of emails. I suspect "normal" (pre-tsunami) would be half of what I'm getting.

I've never heard of an earthquake occurring that was 'censored' from the USGS list.

geologic activity that takes place every day.
This is not that uncommon.
It just seems that way to us who otherwise would never know about it without the USGS website.
