2. New Yorker readers' letters on the issue have been good too.

The Aug. 2 issue was waiting for me in my mailbox when I returned home from my father's memorial service in Miami on Aug. 1 and I still haven't read it but I set it aside from the magazine-avalanche-waiting-to happen that is my coffee table.

I always do a once-through befoer I put it down and read the Talk of the Town, letters and of course the cartoons.

3. MAKE the time to read this article....to help with our own choices and those of of our loved ones...

....turn on that football game, get that dish of chocolate ice cream........and think about it.
