Dear PNHP Members and Friends,

PNHP leaders are in great demand as speakers and commentators on reform. To help more PNHP members take the next step and become active, we have developed an intensive one-day training program that will give you the education, skills, and confidence you need to speak out.

Are you ready to appear on CNN to discuss the health care crisis?
Are you prepared to debate the President of the AMA on the need for national health insurance, and to articulate why health savings accounts and tax credits won't work? (PNHP co-founder Dr. Steffie Woolhandler is doing just that on March 19 in Arlington, VA).

If want to be active in the health care debate, but are intimidated by the amount of material and/or the powerful opposition, we would like to hear from you.

We have set the date for Saturday, May 7, at the Harvard Faculty Club in Cambridge. We are currently working on obtaining 8 hours of CME Category I credit for participants.

PNHP Spring Leadership Training Institute
Saturday, May 7, Harvard Faculty Club, Cambridge MA
Who: All PNHP members and interested physicians are invited to participate in PNHP's Spring Leadership Training. All sessions are taught by PNHP Board members and senior health policy experts. Space is limited.

What: This program provides an intensive learning experience for new (and not so new) PNHP members to get up to speed and gain the confidence they need to become active in the health care debate. 8 hours of CME Category I

When: Friday, May 6 Reception 6:30 - 9 p.m. with PNHP co-founders
Saturday, May 7 Plenary sessions, workshops, debates, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Dinner program (spouses invited) 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Sunday, May 8 (optional) closing breakfast with PNHP Board Members, 8 a.m. to 11 a.m.

Where: All events on May 7 will be at the Harvard Faculty Club. The reception Friday night will be at the home of Drs. David Himmelstein and Steffie Woolhandler. Sunday morning's breakfast will be at the Hotel Sonesta.
