Green tea may prevent prostate cancer
I drink green tea every day.

Drinking green tea regularly may help prevent prostate cancer, according to a new study in the journal Cancer Prevention Research.

The study, led by Jim Cardelli of Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in Shreveport, showed that prostate cancer patients who took four capsules of green tea extract had reduced levels of three proteins that promote tumor growth.

In the study, the researchers tested green tea extract capsules made by made by Polyphenol Pharma in 26 prostate cancer patients aged between 41 and 68. The capsules were given to patients one month before surgery.

Results showed that taking four capsules of epigallocatechin gallate or EGCG, the amount found in about 12 cups of green tea, reduced the amount of hepatocyte growth factor or HGF by 18.9 percent. Vascular endothelial growth factor or VEGF was reduced by 9.9 percent and prostate specific antigen PSA by 10.4 percent.

1. Green Tea does a lot of great things.
I don't go a day without it, either.

5. You have to steep green tea in a different way than regular tea. Otherwise it tastes vile.
Take the water off the element (or unplug it) just before the water is boiling. Then steep the green tea for no more than two minutes.

Tell me if it works for you cause it sure works for me.

6. Don't know if I have the courage
Somebody gave me some mass market green tea in a can once, after I'd been exerting myself in the full heat of the day. I took a big swig, and from the taste I was 100% certain she was trying to poison me.

Not much of a tea drinker in any case, but I've been afraid to try again...

7. It tastes much less bitter if you steep it in hot water for less than 2 minutes.

9. I had some bad "gormet" green tea once.
So, don't give up!

Cheap green tea at the Asian market is the real deal. It's always the same and it's always delicious.

10. Try mixing it with black.
There are some flavored green teas I can handle (peach seems to offset the grassy taste the best) but if I can't do that, I get a bigger cup and use half green, half black.

8. I don't know if drinking green tea works,
but eating loads of raw garlic pretty much prevents you from the opportunity to get an STD.
