PBS had a health care program tonight.
They looked at Germany, Switzerland, etc. to see if they had better and cheaper care. They did. Try to catch it later in the week. Sick in America was the name I think.

700,000 Americans lose their homes because of health care debt. That is just staggering. None in Germany, etc.

2. The common theme seemed to be:
all the other countries prohibit profit-taking on essential services.

3. Their administrative costs are much lower than ours
and no one loses their homes, goes bankrupt, etc. You should try to listen to it once again. I watched the last parts of it an it was excellant.

The candidates for President should listen since we demanded national health care for all in 2006 and 2004. It was a mandate...along with get out of Iraq. We have been ignored.

4. Privitization of services is just plain robbery for the few.
We learned that at the turn of the last century Georgie. Didn't you learn that in school?

5. PBS Frontline: Sick Around the World
A fun show, very positive and informative, wrapped in a travelogue. View it anytime online if you have the bandwidth.

6. I like Japan's system. Either your employer or the government picks up the tab.

And the government keeps prices down. Yet they have excellent health care and plenty of innovation.

Go figure.

**on edit** The employer picks up half the tab but a family still only pays about $280 per month.
