God damn bugger it all to hell!
I am really pissed tonight, guys!

I went and visited an Aussie site I belong to. Anyway, over there they have forums, and well, silly me ventured into the controversial section of these forums and was confronted with a post about the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras. Further I read it.

The initial post was talking about the girl and her two mum's who lead off this years parade.

As I scrolled the replies one struck out at me. It has the familiar opening of "I don't consider gays perverts, or anything, but I am strickly against them having children." So I continue reading and was shocked at this idiots prejudice.

He was like all for certain rights, but not others. In the end I responded to him. I basically said that he says he is for kids right, then if that is the case, why doesn't he talk to kids who are being raised in same sex homes? And that he would be pretty surprised to learn just how well adjusted these kids are.

Towards the end of his post, you saw the blatant bigotry really showing its evil head. In the end I closed my post with; "remember hatred and bigotry is a tought trait, not one we are born with."

What gives these idiots the right to think they have a right in how what we do in our relationships? I am getting God damned sick of people I don't even know judging me as an unfit parent without ever getting to know me. I am getting God damned sick of these people who don't even know me thinking they have the right to tell me who I can and can't even marry, without seeing just how in love Sapph and I truly are.

I am just getting so tired of all this bullshit, guys! Thanks for listening.

1. Hey I am
sorry that you have to go thru this. Write about it anytime you feel like it and know there are many people who support you and your love.

Those assholes do not have the right they just take it.

2. Well, if you're gay... it must obviously mean that
You are some kind of show-tune lovin', doc-martin wearin', VW Bug drivin', tree-huggin', christian hatin', valueless, base, perverted, communist pedophile...

Gee, or maybe I could ask you myself and find out first-hand what you are really like?

But that would threaten my comfortable preconceptions and require me to go through the difficulty of adjusting my views.
And because I am generally insecure and uncertain of who I am, I have come to define myself through my views (which I inherited from a limited circle of friends, family, and Rush Limbaugh).

So if my views change, I may not know who I am anymore!
I might change into something else!

And that terrifies me.

So I guess I know everything I need to know about you.

3. I am glad that you could vent here...
I've done it before as well.

Usually it's when I've become fed-up after dealing with the abject ignorance of so-called 'conservatives'.

The reason these bigots and morons have been so successful is that they never feel the need to stop and think.
This makes it difficult for more thoughtful people because we tend to weigh, measure, and give the benefit of the doubt.

So while thoughtful people are focused on compromise and solutions to benefit as many as possible, these hammerheads just plow straight on and blame their messes on anyone that gets in the way.

The race is growing up SLOWLY, but we are growing up.

So long as this adolescent human race doesn't commit suicide in a fit of insecurity, we'll be a very successful adult race.

In the meanwhile, I hope that more children find their way into loving families so they can be raised by thoughtful people like yourself.

Don't let the ignorami get you down.

6. Thanks!
Let me clarify this first (It was after 4am when I posted this and I wasn't thinking clearly)

I'm not a mother, but being a woman, I do have maternal instincts. And Sapph and I have talked many times in the past about having kids, but in our situation it is pretty hard to be a family.

What pissed me off the most was, he was saying all this crap, and then one sentence he said was along the lines of it is ok for "them" (queers) to babysit his kids, but about them having their own kids is just not on.

Anyway, thanks for listening. :)

8. Pay no attention to those idiots!
This PFLAGer would welcome you and Sapph out here in California!

It's like when my dad would insist that because I was female, I would never "amount to anything (said when he was inebriated)." Lucky I didn't listen to that! I'd just tell him that I was going to accomplish "plenty," and I did!

And, we have plenty of kids who need good-hearted fair parents like yourself - when you are READY!

I adopted my angel several years ago (now 8 - got her when she was 2). I'm proud to say that she knows that families come together in all sorts of ways - and we celebrate the commitment of families to each other.
