5. One more reason

according to a cult from salt that I debated with prior to the P8 vote:

"America is in moral decline, God will punish America sooner or later, if this continues. I am voting for P8 because I am trying to save America from destruction. If I vote to allow gay marriage America will be destroyed. That's what my faith tells me."

That's pretty much calling for gays to be scapegoated and inflammatory and likely to cause some nutjobs to commit hate crimes.
