NO ON 8 Needs More Support !

Proposition 8 has been introduced in California to overturn gay marriage. If this proposition succeeds then it could roll back gay rights progress by about 15 years ! Oppressive groups led by Mormons, Catholics and even the Knights of Columbus have mobilized and are outspending pro-gay marriage supporters by millions of dollars in working to pass this amendment to the state constitution. Their funds will be used to spread false propaganda based upon hatred.

Currently, $16,231,781 has been raised to support the ban on same-sex marriage and only $10,847,114 has been raised to oppose the ban on same-sex marriage.

Brad Pitt and others deserve tremendous praise for drawing attention to their opposition of Prop 8, unfortunately much more is needed. Where are the Elton Johns and David Geffens in helping to defeat this? It's great that Ellen Degeneres has married her partner, but where is she in fighting to preserve that right to marriage?

Please support the groups who are raising funds and working to organize to oppose this amendment, such as eqca, LetCaliforniaRing, and NoOnProp8.

I wish I could afford to send a donation. Prop 8 definitely needs to be shot down. In addition to fundraising, you also need to work on voter turnout. Your supporters need to make sure they are registered to vote, find out about i.d. requirements, and finally, get their butts to the polling stations. Whatever the opinions polls say, don't get too confident. Those social conservatives are highly motivated.

the conservative fundraising effort may be taking many of us by surprise. Hopefully there will be a high liberal turnout for this election and not a lot of election fraud.
