"American Idol" contestant David Hernandez once entertained audiences by removing his clothes instead of singing tunes, a manager at a male strip club in Phoenix told The Associated Press.

The 24-year-old finalist from Glendale, Ariz., once worked as a stripper at Dick's Cabaret, appearing fully nude and performing lap dances for the club's "mostly male" clientele, club manager Gordy Bryan said Monday.

I really don't care about what people do in their private lives, as long as it isn't harming anyone. And, quite frankly, being a stripper isn't harming anyone at all.

when he's asked about this -- and he will be asked about this. I've no doubt that he's gay but these days there are bartenders and strippers in gay bars who insist they're straight -- whether they really are or not is another matter. But since he's now on national TV will this gay guy "in" himself?

I sure hope not!

His being a stripper should not be held against him, of course.

P.S. My "gaydar" went off with a couple of the other guys as well. Hope they come out!
