Posters to tackle homophobic bullying in schools.
This would be a great idea for the United States, and frankly, just about anywhere.

PinkNews.co.uk staff writer

For the next two weeks people across the country will be confronted with a positive message about gay people from 600 billboards.

The advertising space in England, Scotland and Wales has been donated to gay equality organisation Stonewall by Titan Outdoor Advertising Ltd.

The message - 'Some people are gay. Get over it!' - will be displayed in giant, tabloid-style capital letters, on a bright red background.

<snip>

In November 2007 it was launched by television actor John Barrowman as part of Stonewall’s Education for All campaign to tackle homophobic bullying in schools.

1. Mmm... John Barrowman...
I'm sorry, were we talking about something else? I got... um... distracted. O8)

Seriously though, I like the posters. :) Simple, to the point. Telling people to get over their damned hangups about us. Talking about equal rights and discrimination is necessary, but every now and then you just need to tell people to GET OVER IT. We're not the ones with the problem... yet we're the ones who have to deal with that problem every day.

6. I might have some
posters that you could use if that is what you are looking for. We had 3 great posters when we ran our campaign against the Phelps city ordinance and I have them framed in my office. I will PM you when I get there later, or maybe tomorrow and let you know exactly what they said. I will try to find out who has the originals or I would send mine to you to copy. Of course I am assuming you are looking for your GSA and if not disregard! :) They are really good posters.

3. Expect screeches of outrage from the RRRW
Their "right" to discriminate in the name of their "deeply held religious beliefs" is being suppressed--or so they'll say. :sarcasm:

I wonder how many of those billboards will be defaced.

4. I can't get over the fact that John Barrowman is Gay!
I mean... maybe I can convince him to switch-hit? Especially if the other person is James Marsters! (Was that kiss HOT or what?)
