publicly and basically said "Yes, I'm gay...so what?, it has nothing to do with my ability to do the job"

I guess the good folks over in OKC accepted that, as of course they should.
(But I wouldn't be surprised if there are a lot of idiot fundies breast-beating themselves for failing to run a bigot wingnut Repug against him...to which I say, "tough shit.") :D
