They're a busy family this summer, the girls off to horse camp and gymnastics camp, to family field trips at the botanical gardens and the aquarium, to the beach.

They have loud laughing dinners around the table. Sometimes, the girls fight like the sisters they are: She's looking at me. Make her stop. Sundays it's church.

"Who?'' Dad asks when I mention Ronda Storms.

In court, even the state's own witnesses said how well the girls were doing. The judge thanked "Dad and Daddy," said the state owed them a debt of gratitude and ruled that the girls could live permanently with them.

Those two men are quite an inspiration. I could never do it. I don't have it in me, but I admire people who do. It's nice to be able to smile when reading something posted at DU. It doesn't happen often enough.

2. I have followed this case for a couple years....

Besides the gay dads, the other problem was the girls were white/blond/blue eyed... IMHO had they been black nobody would have said a word against the gay dads.

3. In this day and age with straight marriages divorcing at the rate they are

most kids end up with 2 dads at some point anyway. :) I would have had two if my biological father hadn't died a couple years after he left my mom.
