Gee - Repug Guv candidate (CO) opposes marriage!
And look - introduced by Wayne Dullard himself! Yippee!

Beauprez, introduced by U.S. Sen. Wayne Allard and former U.S. Rep. Bob Schaffer, walked on stage to music, flashing lights and the "Let's Get Ready to Rumble" voice-over often used at sporting events. He slammed big labor, tax-and-spend liberals, judicial activism and trial lawyers and vowed to protect "traditional marriage."

"If it's good enough for the Creator, we ought not to be messing with it now," he said.

Gawd - "Let's get ready to rumble?" Can he GET more cliche?

The interesting thing is that Beauprez' opponent in the primary is an even BIGGER asswipe - Marc Holtzman. Holtzman now says he'll use the petition process to get on the ballot. This could easily split the vote! Ritter could take it.

1. Holtzman is a goner.
His showing at the state convention was pitiful.

Even if he has the signatures he will not be a big enough factor to divide the Repukes come the primary.

This is going to be a real horse race between Ritter and Beauprez. I just hope the moderate conservatives will see that Beauprez is as out of touch as that Get Ready to Rumble corn.

2. I'm not so sure.
Holtzman doesn't have to take many votes to throw it to Ritter. Even withOUT Holtzman it would be close. The mood here, IMO, is growing decidedly unRepublican. Even districts in Jeffco and Colo Spgs are polling reasonably well for Dems. If Holtzman did get on the ballot (and I think he's THAT much of an idiot), and he catered to the Vote No on C crowd, he could pull at least a few % from Beauprez. That could be enough.

3. Hotzman is not talking about getting on the November ballot.
He is talking about the Primary ballot. He didn't have enough votes to do that.

I doubt that he would want to be a third party candidate.

4. Oh, rats. I see.
In my excitement I misread the article. Darn. Thanks for correcting me.
