Scottish Gays Say 'I Do'
http://www.365gay.com/Newscon05/12/122005scotland.htm

Seven gay and lesbian couples headed to town halls and registry offices in Scotland on Tuesday to sign the register and become official civil partners, a day after their counterparts in Northern Ireland, and day before those in England and Wales, did the same.

Three of the couples tied the knot in Edinburgh. One of them was an American couple - John Maguire and Laurence Scott-Mackay who live in Washington but who have returned to Edinburgh for their ceremony. Following the registry officer ceremony their union was blessed by the former Anglican Bishop of Edinburgh, Richard Holloway.

In Aberdeen, Neil Fletcher and John Stewart, both city councilors became registered partners. The other couples were registered in Dundee, Dumfries and Glasgow.

Maguire and Scott-Mackay were both born in Scotland and remain citizens. They work for an IT company in Washington.

makes me proud to be part Scottish
