Michele Bachmann: Constitutional amendment banning gay marriage
http://www.thestatecolumn.com/articles/michele-bachmann-constitutional-amendment-banning-gay-marriage/

Minnesota Rep. Michele Bachmann said Sunday that she would support a constitutional amendment banning gay marriage, a comment that comes just days after New York passed a measure legalizing gay marriage.

The Minnesota Republican, who will announce her presidential campaign on Monday during a visit to Waterloo, Iowa, said she Sunday during an appearance on “CBS Sunday” that she would support an amendment banning gay marriage.

While Ms. Bachmann said she supports New York right to pass a measure legalizing gay marriage, Ms. Bachmann added she would use the federal government to pass an amendment banning states from passing similar laws.

“States have, under the 10th Amendment, the right to pass any law they like. Also, federal officials at the federal level have the right to also put forth a constitutional amendment,” said Ms. Bachmann.

3. Feds vs. States
Why is it the tea-partiers love to point out what isn't the Federal Government's role until the States do something they don't like then there needs to be a new amendment to stop them???

Hiding from gay activists?

Not only is she stupid, cruel, and bigoted - she's a fucking coward.

12. 2/3 of the states?
It's 3/4, and I hate to say it, but it would pass in about one year.

Every state west of the Appalachians except for Iowa (and its legislature will probably jump on the chance to pass the Amendment) and nine states EAST of the Appalachians ban it. Sixteen states not only ban same-sex marriage but Constitutionally ban anything that is in the least bit similar to marriage.

Our hope is to keep the Amendment from getting 2/3 votes in Congress and pray that no one calls a Constitutional Convention to bypass Congress.
