Seems to me that Obama is missing the boat on this civil rights issue.

He should make a stand for gay civil rights in employment/medical benefits and end DADT by decree. Let the haters hate. The public is with him and History will be on his side. The writing is on the wall, internationally.

A few rallying speeches in his own defense about bringing this country together may actually help him politically. He can show himself to be a fighter and a man of principles.
