UPDATE: James Randi Comes out at age 81 (Podcast Interview)
Edited on Wed Mar-24-10 01:21 PM by Ian David
James Randi comes out as gay. He discusses his life as a closeted gay man, and why he is now at age 81 coming out, and why he hasnt been publicly open about his sexuality sooner.

He describes the possible impact his coming out may have on his tireless work advancing skepticism and critical thinking.

He discusses his atheism, and whether it, or his sexual orientation, influences the mission of the James Randi Educational Foundation.

He talks about gay rights issues such as marriage equality. He discusses his detractors and what they might make of the news of his homosexuality.

And he explores the relevance of gay rights to the skeptical movement.

11. Hahahaha. I found some Uri at a St Vincent DePaul thrift store last year.

Deep, deep long, wide space
I am floating there like water
The planets look alike like me and you
The stars are turning over
Oh God, you are so big and strong
I feel your strength
Your hand to me has pointed
Creation there, creation here
I know for I wonder
Love is a word that understands
People hear this word and think
Of God above you

etc... :puke:

6. Is he the guy who used to go by the Amazing Randi?
I think I saw him give a talk at Iowa State back in the 80s!!!!

I liked him then and still like him now.

9. When Gay people come out, why do they feel that
they have to explain why they did not come out sooner? Anybody know why?

14. I wonder why he was concerned that people might think...

... that his beard was an attempt to look less gay.

Sorry, I love James Randi, but I have a thing against beards.
