Black Gays Plan Own Million Man Observance
http://www.365gay.com/newscon05/08/082205gayBlack.htm

Gay African Americans say that despite assurances they will be welcome at the 10th-anniversary of the Million Man March in Washington they will hold their own rally.

The Million's More march and rally will be held October 14-16 and will be led by the Nation of Islam's Minister Louis Farrakhan.

Farrakhan has told black gays that they will be welcome at the event, but DC black gay leaders say they have been shut out from any role in organizing the march.

1. I think Farrakhan just wants to get as many gays as he can into one place
And even if Farrakhan himself has good intentions, I don't think that particular crowd would be a safe place for a gay man to be.

3. Wonder if the black gay contingent would welcome company?
I don't know how that would work, but if there's a sense of hostility from elements within the Nation of Islam, it might be helpful to have additional gay, trained security along. I'd guess that the Fruit of Islam bodyguards don't want any trouble breaking out either, and that a security plan could be coordinated to keep demonstrators from clashing with other demonstrators without ever having to involve police. It would seem particularly interesting if those allies were of any random race, and might provide some food for thought for the more isolationist elements within NOI.

4. Along those lines..
I wonder why now? This is an environment of hostility and intolerance. Coulde there be a plan, aided by collusion, to place blame for any unrest or confrontation on the gay element "invited" to participate.

This just doesn't sound right.

5. Lovely, a riot started by gay people in Washington
Wouldn't that just be a public relations coup. Especially if it ends up in police violence against black men (stretch of the imagination, I know) that might lead to a backlash of black men at gay men. Add into that the image on the nightly news... Black Muslims and Gays Riot in DC. If only a few feminists were having abortions on the capitol steps while being set on fire by PETA, it would be perfect.
