Democratic Congresswoman Blasts Party For Failing Gays
(Indianapolis, Indiana) U.S. Rep. Julia Carson (D-IN) has delivered a scathing attack on fellow Democrats in her hometown of Indianapolis accusing them of cowardice for refusing to support a measure that would have prohibited LGBT discrimination in jobs and housing.

The usually soft-spoken Carson brought together several dozen of the area's most powerful Democrats for a meeting this week in Indianapolis. They included judges, state lawmakers, and city council members.

She told them that the city council was wrong when it defeated the gay rights measure and accused the councilors of playing politics not engaging in good government.

"I think that y'all are reading the wrong polls," Carson said.

"I see the erosion of the Democratic Party, which makes me nervous. People want somebody who will stand up for their own convictions."

3. This is important
More dem leaders need to point out how we get used as scapegoats to create diversions to real issues.

4. Wait, but the only way for the Democratic party to get anywhere
is if we don't let gays get married or have houses or have jobs. :sarcasm:
